The Leicester Police Department was caught on film be reporter and

ex-policewoman, Nina Hobson, showing sexism, policemen not carrying out their duties by not

responding to calls, and cheating the government by incorrectly filing

occurrences. Once the video was released to the public, the people of

Leicester no longer trusted their police force and are demanding

change or their valuable tax dollars to be refunded. People are

questioning their safety and the governmental leadership of their

town.

Objectives

Leicestershire and Rutland

The objectives of the Leicester campaign will be to change the thoughts of the people about how their

police department is run and the types of people that are serving them. They will hear from top officials that everything in their power is being done to be sure that

only those that are worthy to serve the people of Leicester will remain as a part of the police force.

Audience

The main audience that we will be targeting for this campaign is

the residents of Leicester, as well as Leicestershire and

Rutland. The target demographic is men and women residing in these

three towns ages 18-65. The women should be assured of their personal safety and the

seriousness to which it is taken. Men should be confident that their tax

dollars are being spent in the best way possible and that

their families are being protected.

Strategy

Our strategy will be to have the Chief of the Department deliver a public statement promising the people that everyone from within is

being reexamined to ensure the best possible police

officers available. It should also be known that sexism will not be tolerated in any

form. Officers will appear to care more about the

community and its citizens and all paperwork will be overseen by an advisor.

Tactics

Several VRNs will be sent out showing officers out and about in the community and interacting with families. A press conference will be held by the Chief expressing his deep concern and the need for change . Also, several

news reporters will be contacted and will be given information about the new

policing service.

Budget

Our budget will be $15,000 for a local advertising campaign and TV

spots.

Methods of Evaluation

To evaluate whether or not our campaign is working, we will run several public opinion polls and also review the files completed my

the police to make sure that there are being changes made and the public is being

served to the best of their abilities.

To be sure that the public feels like they can trust us again, we will be proving to them that our police

officers really are changed. The public will see them all over town, patrolling streets and helping

children. This is a situation that cannot be simply covered up, we must work from within the

department to make the appropriate changes, then we will highlights those changes using the media.

The best way for us to change the minds of the people is to show them that change has been made. They need to
