Learn Trapshooting Canada Spring Newsletter – May 2009
First of all, I would like to extend a warm welcome to each and every
one who has recently joined the Learn Trapshooting CA family – we
are glad to have you!
I especially would like to acknowledge all the dedicated athletes who
trained hard throughout the entire off-season. Even under adverse
weather conditions (snow storms, freezing rain, or the ever present
wind), you endured and worked through it, proving again your passion
for the sport and commitment to your training program.
I am also happy to welcome Alicia into her new role as a Trapshooting Coach
with LearnTrapshooting Canada. She will be focusing on our advanced level two
and three athletes and will be instrumental in assisting our Senior Team
throughout the competition season in Ontario and the US.
Alicia Marinache, Trapshooting Coach
Through much hard work, we have been successful in securing an impressive line up of sponsors this year.
Leaders in their respective business areas, our generous corporate sponsors understand the importance
of preserving heritage, and developing the sport by supporting our young athletes.
Please, in turn support Learn Trapshooting's official sponsors by visiting their stores, either online or in
person and solicit their business. Remember to mention you are part of Canada’s Learn Trapshooting
team and that you appreciate their generosity. You can find out more about our sponsors by visiting the
“Our Sponsors” area on our website. Thank you Peggy Baker of PB Photography for the amazing pictures!

We have been working hard to bring new and exciting high quality trapshooting programs to our athletes
this year and we have a lot planned for this season. Before I get into the details though, please allow me
to introduce to you our top athletes who, I am sure, will make us proud this season!
First, who is a LearnTrapshooting.ca sponsored athlete? He or she:
1. Is a highly skilled junior competitor, seeking to perform to the best of his / her ability at every
opportunity.
2. Participate regularly (80%+) in scheduled training sessions and competes as per their athlete
development plan.
3. Is always striving to raise the level of his/her shooting and demonstrates a high level of
sportsmanship on and off the range.
4. Is respectful of the sport, his/her coaches and other students, opponents, officials, sponsors and
spectators and has earned the respect of his/her fellow competitors.
5. Manages his/her equipment in a professional and safe manner.
6. Promotes LearnTrapshooting.ca and the sport of trapshooting through their actions and words
both on and off the range. Wears LTS gear at all official events and elsewhere giving exposure to
the school and the sport.
7. Keep a training log in his / her profile and abides by LearnTrapshooting Canada’s motto:
Safety :: Performance :: Fun!™
