There are two primary functions of the Lake Houston Area Chamber: 1. To act as the spokesperson for the business community and translate into action the collective thoughts of its membership. 2. Our Mission: The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is a cooperative effort of business people to attract new business, support and strengthen the business environment, serve the needs of the members and cooperate with civic leaders and other interested parties to promote community growth.
Service Area: Boundaries include the City of Humble and a portion of northeast Harris County and south Montgomery County from New Caney to the north, Huffman to the east, Aldine Westfield Road to the west and Beltway 8 to the south.
Q: Why should you invest in your local chamber of commerce?
A: Because membership in the local chamber offers scores of benefits and keeps business owners on top of important, ever-changing issues and trends within their community and local marketplace. Research proves that consumers are more likely to do business with a company if it’s a member of their local chamber of commerce.
According to a research study by The Shapiro Group, Inc. and Market Street Services, when consumers know that a small business is a member of their local chamber of commerce, they are 44 percent more likely to think favorably. Consider the following:
Being an integral part of the local chamber boosts your ability to communicate that your company uses good business practices by 29 percent and by 26 percent for communicating that your business is reputable.
If a company shows strong participation in its local chamber (e.g., sits on the chamber board), consumers are 12 percent more likely to think that its products stack up better against its competition because he or she infers that the company is trustworthy, involved in the community and is an industry leader.
When consumers know that a restaurant franchise is a member of the chamber of commerce, they are 40 percent more likely to eat there in the next few months.

The Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is the only private-sector non-profit organization that is working for the needs of all businesses.
