Some of the main aims for UU
• Help to ensure that choice of education and career will be of
greatest possible benefit to the individual and to society.
• Be targeted particularly at young people who, without specific
guidance, will have difficulties in relation to choosing and completing
education, training and career.
• Take into account the individual’s interests and personal
qualifications and skills.
• Contribute to limiting, as much as possible, the number of dropouts
• Be independent of sectorial and institutional interests. Therefore
guidance shall be provided by practitioners with an approved
guidance education or recognized competencies at the same level.

• There are 50 schools in our region
• 16 guidance counselors
• Each have more than one school
• Organised in geographic areas
• We provide individual and group guidance sessions
• Team meeting once a week
• We assist teachers in their work with education and work orientation

• Introduction to youth education in grade 7
• Education plan and induction courses in grade 8
• Work placement and periods bridge building courses for all in grade 9
• Two-week bridge building courses for all pupils in grade 10
• We arrange visits to companies og businesses.

Team Young In the 4 municipalities there are approximately 1600 young people between 15 and 25 years old.
We are informed automatically when a young person drops out of school or college.
We contact him or her to discuss available options.
The system regularly reminds our guidance counselors to contact the young people whom we consider to be “at risk” for various reasons.

A special obligation
for the 15 to 17 year olds • To provide guidance to this group of young
people into education, employment or other activity designed to ensure that they are pursuing an education in line with their education plan.
• UUV contacts the 15-17 year olds within 5 working days after the UUV has been informed that the young do not follow his education plan.
• UUV offers 15-17 year olds a new activity within 30 days after contact is established.
• UUV shall notify a local authority on young people who do not follow their education plan.
