NORWIN ALLIANCE CHURCH AUGUST 2013
KOINONIA “That the communication (Koinonia)(pronounced:coy no nee a) of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.” Philemon 1:6
Francis Chan recently preached these words about sharing Christ:
"There's one area of my life where I have not had peace about for years. I just kept pushing it away and repressing it until I said I have to change. This is the area of no peace for me: it's never made sense to me that I know there is a hell and I am not warning people like crazy about it. It has always bothered me. All Christians are to be sharing Christ, and we don't have peace when we don't share Christ. Last week I shared the gospel more in one day than I had for a whole year. I felt peace because I know that's what God told me to do. And it's never made sense to me that I don't share Christ more."
Jesus said He has all authority in heaven and earth, so we can go and make disciples while having confidence in Him. When the boss gives you a task to do at work, and you either do it or totally ignore it, that whole experience is a big deal. Our Lord has said to share the gospel. It's a big deal when we share Christ and it's a big deal when we don't share Christ.
The Lord will help us be like the Apostle Paul who said, "I am compelled to proclaim Christ, woe to me if I do not proclaim Christ". I Corinthians 9:16

DO YOU LOVE GOD’S WORD? ?
A missionary in Olderkesi, Kenya worshipped with the natives in Maasailand. The African women were ecstatic with joy because they had learned how to read. Each lady was presented with a new Bible in their Maasai language. The ladies celebrated this very, very special day. One older lady stood by, clutching the Bible close to her chest. Via a translator she said, “I love God’s Word. This Book is my most precious possession. I carry it as my shield for protection. I keep it close to me ALL THE TIME. Someday I hope I’ll be able to read it.”
The missionary was crying with a sense of shame because he recognized how often those of us who have access to God’s Word - - and probably several different translations and study helps - - neglect God’s Word. We do not take advantage of reading and studying God’s inspired message to us.
Another missionary in Guatemala ran for cover as an earthquake struck the area. As soon as possible she ran back into the house and picked up God’s precious Word. She knew the Quiche Indians would look to her (and her husband) for guidance and direction as to WHY the gods were angry and shook the earth.
A missionary friend in Brazil who works with Wycliffe translators describes the JOY the Jarawara tribe acknowledge when just a portion of God’s Word becomes THEIRS.
Are you as ardent (am I? ?) as the Quiche Indians, the Jarawara tribe and the Maasailand inhabitatns in reading and studying God’s Word? ? ? Our privileges as Christian believers in the USA are slowly being taken away from us. KNOW GOD’S WORD. MEMORIZE GOD’S WORD. STUDY GOD’S WORD. LOVE GOD’S WORD!!!

The NAC Men's Fellowship exists to provide opportunities for men to grow in their relationships with Christ and each other. We meet weekly at 7:00 PM Tuesday evenings. During the summer months we meet once a month. We believe that as men we have been called by God to be the spiritual leaders in our homes. This means living as husbands and fathers according to God’s word. Our group offers opportunities such as small group Bible studies, one-on-one disciple building, fellowship and recreational activities and outreach events to help men become the “Men of God” that we are meant to be. Proverbs 27:17 says, “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another” and we believe these words to be at the heart of this ministry. As brothers in Christ, we put this scripture into practice by encouraging, supporting and holding one another accountable – we are stronger when we stand together. We welcome men of all ages and all walks of life, regardless of church affiliation. If you are a man and you seek to go deeper in your relationship with God, please join us. For more information contact the Norwin Alliance Church office at 724-864-1570 or visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/NACMF.
