FALL 2015 Newsletter
Dear Students and Parents,
With the new school year approaching, there are some changes hap-
pening not only in our district but on our campus.
As we begin the new school year, I want to highlight a few changes
that you will see on our campus. First, as many of you know, construction will
begin on Bruce B. Downs Blvd., during this school year. In efforts to relieve
some of the anticipated stress for parent-pick/drop-off lines, we have moved the
car-rider line to the south end of campus by the auditorium and cafeteria areas.
Parents will no longer drop their students off in the front of the school near visi-
tor parking. With this change in mind, we’ve moved our bus ramp to the north end of campus
by student and faculty parking with the exception of some of our special needs buses.
As for the second change, this is the first year that we are moving our newsletter
entirely to our website. Please go visit us at http://wharton.mysdhc.org/ to view our full
newsletter.
I am excited about the upcoming school year and I look forward to seeing all of our
students return to school on August 25th and for Open House Thursday, August 20 from
8:30 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.
Sincerely,
Brad Woods

Know How To Locate Your Homeroom...
Reading your Mailing Label and Identifying your Homeroom
Throughout the school year, homerooms will be printed and formatted like the example shown below. Please keep in mind that
all pertinent information can be found our website at http://wharton.mysdhc.org/. You will receive parent link phone calls
throughout the school year directing your attention to our website. As for this publication, please be advised that hardcopies
of the newsletter are available upon request at 631-4710.
If you are receiving this letter, you are already registered for classes and simply need to come to school on August 25th.
The front mailing label tells you where to go on the first day of school to pick up your schedule.
FOR SCHEDULE CHANGES BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS
It is our goal to begin school on August 25th with minimal schedule changes. To accomplish this, we will allow students/parents
to come to school according to the schedule below to correct schedule errors. 12th Grade Wednesday, August 12 8 a.m. - 12 noon 11th Grade Wednesday, August 12 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. 10th Grade Thursday, August 13 8 a.m. - 12 noon 9th Grade Thursday, August 13 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: You may request a change for the following reasons: 1. Failing a required course 2. Passing a course in summer online or night school 3. Missing a requirement for graduation 4. Not having the proper prerequisite
5. Wrong level - i.e. Spanish 3 should be Spanish 2
Elective changes will not be considered at this time. Please recall that we emphasized during programming in De-
cember, elective choices would not be changed in the fall. We do not have the ability to add classes or teachers
to the master schedule at this time.
Appointments will not be given; it will be first come, first serve. Either student and/or parent must be present to
make the change. Changes must be made in person, not by phone.
