Nearly 30 individuals from our Church family and The Stillwater Wound Center, led by Shelby Wright, volunteered to work Special Olympics this past Thursday and Friday. We had volun-teers of all ages help with this very special event.
Working Special Olympics was absolutely incredible. We had the opportunity to work both days helping referee a game called ‘Bocce.” Two Olympians competed with each other on Boone Pickens Field. It was thrilling to see parents, coaches, and other individuals cheering on their athletes to victory (Sounds like Hebrews 12, doesn’t it?) Many of our volunteers were able to assist kids compete who didn’t have the ability to throw the “balls” (these ath-letes used plastic tubes to get the
balls onto the field). It was so humbling see our volunteers hugging and spurring on these athletes! It was also thrilling to see our volunteers giving out medals and ribbons to the athletes. This is what it is all about. It was hot, but well worth every moment! I’m so glad to be a member of the Stillwater congregation. Yes, people making a differ-ence in the lives of other people in the name of Jesus Christ. I’m so grateful to live in a community and to be associ-ated with a University that has opened it doors for 50 years of Spe-cial Olympics. A big note of appreciation to each and every person who helped on Thursday and Friday. Get some well deserved rest! We’ll need you next year along with many others. In Christ, Jimie-Wray

WILL ROGER MINISTRY This year the Will Rogers Ministry was blessed with $7600 due to a
matching contribution from a generous donor in the congregation. That
made it possible for us to fund school supplies for 60 children at the be-
ginning of the year. Additionally, we supplied each classroom with kleen-
ex, hand sanitizer, and wipes both in the fall and spring. The funds pur-
chased coats in the fall and provided meals/snacks for Teacher Apprecia-
tion at Thanksgiving and during conferences and the end of the
year. With the remainder of the funds we were able to provide 247 chil-
dren (every child in 2nd,3rd,and 4th grade) with money to purchase their
own books for summer reading. Due to a buy 1-get 1 free, each child ac-
tually was able to purchase 2 books. Many of them would not have been
able to purchase books at all without your generous giving. It has been a
wonderful second year of building stronger relationships and trust while
showing them the love of Jesus. Thank you for your hearts of service.
