The last decade has seen an explosion in aesthetic treatments, fueling the aesthetic market and leading to the
introduction of innovative tools and treatment options that allow physicians to redefine youth and age. Absorbing and
acquiring technical skills is of importance, however what differentiates practitioners who merely follow trends from those who shape the future involves a constant reviewing
and challenging of existing knowledge.
IMCAS congresses strive to provide a unique pedagogical approach, gathering the most driven world-renowned
experts. The international faculty of 800 physicians this year along with the numerous partnerships with international academic societies are evidence to the
collective spirit that we embody. Embracing the junctions and differences in dermatology, plastic surgery and
aesthetic science, the scientific program is built upon 15 key themes. From injectables, lasers & EBD, clinical
dermatology, face surgery, breast & body surgery, body shaping, peelings, genital treatments to practice
management, new technologies and artificial intelligence, the sessions are regrouped into topic series for an in-depth
immersion into a core subject.
One of the highlights of the scientific program this year is Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and robotics. Advances in
diagnostic algorithms, sophistications in surgical robotics, imaging technologies for accurate and affordable scans and
other technological developments all serve as examples of the emerging revolution that will change the practice itself,
similar to the digital revolution physicians experienced at the dawn of the 21st century. The sessions of this series aim
to provide insight into how A.I. and robotics can specifically apply to aesthetics, what technologies are currently
available, and what it entails for physicians and patients in their everyday interaction.
Another aspect of the program are the two major LIVE events showcasing a simultaneous transmission
and screening of live cadaver dissections alongside live procedures on a patient. The Anatomy on Cadaver
Workshop on Thursday focuses on the anatomy and techniques pertaining to injectables and threads, as well
as echographic scanning to avoid danger zones. The Live Aesthetic Surgery Course on Friday enables you to follow
a range of different surgical procedures performed live, juxtaposing with the anatomy of the relevant areas. This
live surgery course is endorsed by International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS), setting the guidelines
for safe and effective procedures.
Shape the future of aesthetics
At IMCAS, we believe that shaping the future of aesthetics manifests through an international and intergenerational discussion, giving voice to the future generation of physicians. The young physician day is designed to encourage a new generation to learn from veteran experts, and incite them to present their clinical cases to a high-profile jury of experts. This is an excellent opportunity for them to learn from each other, and push the boundaries of their common perception.
Taking into consideration that it’s impossible to be everywhere at the same time, IMCAS Academy, the e-learning platform, offers you a rich library of 3,600 presentations from IMCAS congresses past and present which you can watch anytime, anywhere at your own pace. Be sure to download the free app, and find us at the Academy Booths to discover how you can become a member.
Practitioners travel far and wide from over 112 countries to meet and exchange with others in their field, so we feel it’s important to provide an experience that is rigorous in its educational approach all the while creating moments of conviviality and fun. With this in mind, we have organized two social events, the Networking Cocktail and the Gala Dinner for you to unwind and add another level of richness to your congress experience. We hope to see you there.
As you browse the pages of this program and take a close look at the details of the scientific program for the three days, you will discover the exhaustive scope of the educational material for IMCAS Annual World Congress 2020. Aesthetics is a field of rapid evolution, constantly redefining our notion of youth and age. Not only are you a part of this profession, you are also the motor that drives its progress. You shape the future.

Hair loss is prevalent world-wide, and its effects are, in some cases, devastating to the patient’s self-image, and despite the many treatment options, it can be difficult to determine which method is best for your patient.
The full-day dedicated to Hair Restoration brings together prominent international experts who give their insights for hair loss management based on research findings, so that you can apply evidence-based techniques to your practice. The series begins with the fundamentals in diagnosis, patient evaluation, building towards new therapies to treat alopecia aerate, scarring alopecia, and recent findings in PRP and SVF for hair regeneration. In the afternoon, the courses delve into new developments in surgical FUE & FUT techniques, managing complications, and future options such as trichopigmentation and robotic hair transplant.

Dermatology is a multifaceted specialty. Over the past 20 years, IMCAS has been able to promote this field by dedicating a scientific tribune within the world of medical aesthetics. This is a specialty that is in constant progress, and the objective of the Clinical Dermatology module is to assemble the essential developments that took place in the last year.
The unparalleled scientific content is the result of numerous partnerships with national and international academic societies, such as the national society of dermatology of Germany, Portugal, Morocco, Spain and Italy, as well as specialized groups like the Global Scar Society, International Dermoscopy Society, Dermatologic Therapy and Groupe Laser SFD. Every one of the collaborations demonstrate the richness and variances in dermatology.
Bolstered by the crucial inputs from the scientific societies and the prominent specialists leading the courses, the Clinical Dermatology sessions explore pathologies and skin diseases that require surgical and aesthetic interventions. Follow along the series to discover the latest developments made in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment methods.

The popular Cosmeceuticals module is back for its 6th edition at IMCAS Annual World Congress 2020.
Based on recent advances in young and aged skin, skin microbiome research, the medical and scientific experts will review the safety and efficacy of cosmeceuticals, ingredients and home-use devices, covering from preventative procedures, routine skincare to post-treatment care.
This year two new sessions have been added to the series:• Clean Beauty• Panel debate «I’m pro vs I’m con»
The Clean Beauty movement is a conscious consumerism for natural and non-toxic ingredients that is rapidly gaining momentum. In essence this trend is not problematic, however today, it is mostly driven by consumer anxiety, misinformation and false marketing without scientific rational. The sessions therefore elaborate on what clean beauty really means, and to what extent the claims for clean beauty ingredients are true.
The last hour is dedicated the pro vs con session, a panel discussion during which dermatologists argue their pro or con point of view on four important subjects: Nutraceutics; Probiotics and skin aging; Clean beauty for skin aging; and whether or not Parabens are safe preservatives in skin care.
So join this module to update yourself on all the latest scientific findings to guide the way for a healthier skin aging!

Dr Barbara Hersant, Plastic surgeon, France: I have noticed significantly that patients seeking treatments from me are getting younger and younger. It’s a relatively new tendency we are noticing, and it’s definitely a topic of discussion during this year’s sessions. The female genital therapy sessions will discuss the contraindications and limits of current genital treatment options, and discover new developments made in the last year in a compare-and-contrast kind of way. We’ll also mention the growing relevance of patient psychology in their decision to seek treatment.
Meetingyour educational needs
STEP 1 – SETTING A CLEAR OBJECTIVE
The ultimate objective of our congresses is to deliver the most updated scientific content for participants’ successful practice, and the communal progress of all disciplines related to dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures. With this in mind, each year the Scientific Board and team conducts an exhaustive analysis to determine the new educational needs of physicians and practitioners. STEP 5 – ASSESSING BUSINESS ETHICS
IMCAS is a private corporation and as such is a profit-seeking business. But IMCAS is also conducting educational activities for healthcare professionals and as such business ethics is mandatory.
Addressing business ethics issues in any organization starts with complying with relevant laws and regulations but we all know this is far from being exhaustive. Higher standards obviously apply to healthcare professionals:• in regards to doctors, medical ethics put
patient welfare first and anything that interferes with this primary aim, particularly personal gain, is deemed a conflict of interest (COI – please refer to step 4)
• in regards to corporations, precise line-drawing is not fixed yet. Will it one day?
On its side, our management is constantly building a guide of principles designed to help our team of professionals conduct business with honesty and integrity.
To ensure the delivery of a high-quality program content, we enforce equal treatment towards doctors and sponsors, whether “big or small”, and towards other influential corporations. As an example, two years ago, we launched a new platform for our industry partners who were sponsoring our event and wished to place an order. At that time, equal opportunities for companies seemed a difficult feat. Today, however we can assure you that fair treatment is becoming a standard.
As our congresses continue to grow in size and spectrum, or main goal continues to be the satisfaction of our attendees. This is made possible through a thorough delivery of the most current and accurate scientific content.
Is there a dilemma that exists between this mission statement and gaining revenue? To us, no. Business, ethics and profit: we sincerely think they are compatible.
What if the speaker declares ‘no Conflict of Interest’?Neither the speaker nor any member of his/her immediate family has a significant financial arrangement or affiliation with the product, device or company involved in the congress nor any potential bias against another product, device or company.
STEP 2 – SEEKING OUT THE NEEDS
The IMCAS Scientific Board studies the feedbacks and evaluations from participants, and combs through the current publications in peer-reviewed journals to identify the subjects necessary in real-life practices to reinforce the professional development of attendees with latest educational updates.
STEP 3 – STRUCTURING THE PROGRAM
Once the needs are identified, the IMCAS Scientific Board works closely with learned societies and peer-reviewed journals to establish the framework for each session, making sure the recent developments of each theme are presented by prominent experts through innovative and dynamic teaching formats. The sessions are further strengthened through abstracts received. At IMCAS World Congress 2020, more than 800 physicians are orally lecturing or presenting a digital paper. 350 of them are officially invited by the Scientific Board, 300 are given a contributing talk after having submitted an abstract, and 150 are industry speakers.
STEP 4 – ACKNOWLEDGING ANYCONFLICT OF INTERESTS
A Conflict of Interest is a situation in which a speaker has an interest (financial or other) that could be seen as distorting his/her motivation or presentation in any way. Scientific lectures are presumed to be based on objective interpretations of evidence and unbiased interpretations of facts. The integrity of our conference requires all speakers to disclose any potentially distorting influences before and during their lecture. The audience may then judge and, if necessary, make allowances for the impact of bias on the information being presented. In general, safest and most open course of action is to disclose activities and relationships that, if known to others, might be viewed as a conflict of interest, even if speakers do not believe that any conflict or even bias exists. This is why each speaker is asked to display his or her disclosure slide before beginning to lecture.
imcas ceo
In an effort to adhere to our mission of providing objective medical sessions while accom-modating an ever-increasing body of attendees, IMCAS works diligently to maintain strict distinction between the scientific and commercial content. The figures below demonstrate that while the scale of the congress and number of sessions grow: sponsored activities are never more than a small percentage within the program, and the unrestricted educational grants play a major role in preserving objectivity within the scientific program.

INDUSTRY SYMPOSIA (PAGE ON LEFT)
A symposium is a 1-hour presentation taking place in the auditoriums during which sponsoring
companies showcase their newest developments, promoting to a large audience all their products,
innovations and techniques through lectures, video presentations and live demonstrations.
LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS (PAGE ON LEFT)
Broadcasted from a dedicated medical treatment room, the live demonstrations are 1-hour sessions
composed of three consecutive 20-minute demonstrations that allow you to see the products
and devices in injectables, threads, lasers & EBD action on stage! Unlike symposia, live
demonstrations are moderated, enabling a critical viewpoint to the products or devices shown.
INDUSTRY GUEST LECTURESThese 15-minute talks by industry representatives
take place on the Open stage right in the exhibition area, emulating a convivial and interactive
environment that incites fruitful discussions. Check our website for the updated list of lectures.
TRAINING LABSThe training programs are specifically designed
for small groups of 10 to 15 attendees in a private, medicalized training room. Activities include hands-on opportunities, oral presentations or demonstrations on a patient, all of which are
trainings so you can understand the full potential usage or the company’s devices and products.
HOSPITALITY SUITESHospitality suites are company-tailored conference rooms where KOL speakers share their experience
and techniques about the hosting company’s products. The seclusion of the suites along with
refreshments served create a relaxed environment that stimulates exchange and discussions.
Please visit the company booth if you wish to receive an invitation.
WHO’S IN CHARGE?The organizing company is
responsible for the content of a sponsored session, as well as keeping
the scientific integrity and compliance with all regulations for ethical practice.
The organizing company manages the selection of the materials, speakers
and scientific integrity of the session for sponsored activities other than
live demonstrations.
WHO CAN ATTEND?Symposia, live demonstrations and industry guest lectures are open to
all badge holders, however access to training labs and hospitality suites are
granted by the organizing company. Please stay tuned for more updates
about the training labs and hospitality suites available for this year’s congress.
Sponsored sessionsat-a-glance
The highlighted sessions below are informative activities prepared by the sponsoring companies who wish to present their latest products and devices in dynamic formats.

LIvE AESThETIC SUrgErY COUrSEDr Foad NahaiPlastic surgeon, USA
So far, the recent emergence of artificial intelligence and robotics in aesthetics has been a sensational revolution. It’s a new tool for training, for patient communication platform and for aid in diagnosis. But is it the new physician? The Foundations in A.I. & Robotics in Aesthetics series will focus on this primary question and more. We will be exploring the limits and potentials of current technologies, and pondering together how to discern whether they are true improvement in treatment methods or marketing strategies for noise. Don’t forget to submit your abstract in this category.
The purpose of the Live Aesthetic Surgery Workshop is for the surgeon to teach in real time, be available for questions from the audience as she/he operates. Key points will include evaluation of the patient and how that relates to the choice of operation. Our goal is to point out special technical details, nuances of technique and how they are adapted to the patient to assure the best and safest result.
Session previewsfrom our experts...
CLINICAL DErmATOLOgYDr Hugues Cartier & Merete HaedersdalDermatologists, France & Denmark
Dermatology is a multifaceted specialty that is in constant progress, and the aim of the Clinical dermatology and Dermatologic surgery series is to assemble the essential developments that took place in the last year. Over the three days, the sessions will examine clinical dermatology in a medical-surgical context, covering major themes such as hidradenitis suppurativa, acne, pigmented and vascular lesions, psoriasis, vitiligo, photoprotection, melasma, dermoscopy, oncologic and nail surgery. The exhaustive content dedicated to the field is the result of numerous partnerships with academic societies, and every one of the collaborations represent the growing significance of this topic series.

Bangkok holds a dear place in our hearts, for it is the here we hosted our very first congress in Asia. This is why we
are thrilled to return to the capital of Thailand to host the 14th edition of IMCAS Asia, in collaboration with the Thai
Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Surgery (ITCAM). This new edition gathers all the upgraded educational material in dermatology, plastic surgery and aesthetic
science for attendees to excel in the new decade, with a special focus on the approaches and perspectives from Asia’s
finest physicians.
Whether you venture into the heart of this metropolitan city or explore its stunning nature and historic landmarks,
Bangkok offers unparalleled discoveries to be made. Be sure to catch the beautiful cityscapes and the exotic
temples scattered across the capital. And stay tuned as we continue our research for IMCAS Asia 2021, with old and
new contenders in the Southeast, like Bali or the Philippines.
We continue the educational journey of 2020 with IMCAS Americas in South America. Although the final destination
is still in pending for decision, our team is on terrain studying possibilities in Argentina, Peru, Mexico or Chile,
with the former being a strong prospect. Keep an eye on our homepage for the final choice and congress dates!
