CHAPTER - 2
Eligibility Conditions
2.1 Academic
(a) For B.E. CoursesThe admission to the First Semester B.E. Courses will be open to a candidate, who
(i) has qualified in the AIEEE-2012, conducted by the C.B.S.E., for admission to thesecourses. (See Note 1 below)
(ii) has passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate(55% marks in case of S.C./S.T./Physically Handicapped), conducted by a recognized
Board/University/Council in March/April 2012 and not earlier than March/April
2010. (See Note 2 & 3 below)
(b)For B. Arch. CourseThe admission to the First Semester B.Arch. Course will be open to a candidate, who
(i) has qualified in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture EntranceExamination (AIEEE-2012), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE
(See Note 1 below).
(ii) has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior Schoolcertificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of
examinations at the 10+2 level (not earlier than March/April-2010) with minimum
50% marks in aggregate (See Note 2 & 3 below)
OR
has passed 3-year Diploma in Architecture(10+3) (not earlier than March/April 2010)
recognized by the Central/State Governments provided the candidate passed the Diploma
examination with 50% marks in aggregate (See Note 2 & 3 below)
NOTE:
1. A candidate must secure a minimum of 15 percent marks in the All India
Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) to qualify for admission.However, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes and Physically
Handicapped categories shall be eligible if they secure a minimum of 10 percent
of the maximum marks of AIEEE 2012.
2. A candidate who gets a compartment in the 10+2/Diploma in Architecture
examination held in March/April 2012 will not be eligible for admission even if
he/she clears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination) before
the reporting /counselling dates.
3. Aggregate marks percentage in 10+2 or equivalent examination shall be worked
out as suggested by the certificate awarding Board/University/Council. If the
Board/University/Council awards letter grades without providing the equivalentpercentage of marks on the grade sheet, the candidate, should obtain a

certificate from the respective Board/University/Council specifying equivalent
percentage conversion formula and submit at the time of reporting/counselling.
In the absence of such a certificate, the decision of the JAC regarding his/her
eligibility shall be final.
2.2 Other Conditions
For admission to the B.E./B. Arch. courses, each candidate must
(a) bear a good moral character and should not have been debarred from anyinstitution/university,
(b) be an Indian National (except for those seats which are open to ForeignNationals/PIO/NRI),
(c) satisfy the prescribed medical standards of fitness as follows:i. Standard of Physique:
A candidate must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defectlikely to interfere with efficient performance of duties of his/her profession.
ii. Standard of Visual acuity with or without glasses shall be:Distant Vision Near Vision

The total amount of myopia including the cylinder shall not exceed 600 D

2.3 Eligibility for admission under Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI seats
Candidates desirous of seeking admission in UIET, UIET PUSSGRC and UICET (formerly known
as DCET) against Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI seats for B.E. courses, who are present in India,
will compete amongst themselves for the seats reserved for them by appearing in the AIEEE-
2012. Those living abroad will be required to produce the test score of Scholastic Aptitude Test
II (SAT-II) with permissible combination of subjects, conducted by the Educational Testing
Service, Princeton, U.S.A. (In case one of the subjects is Mathematics, it would be Mathematics
IIC). Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI shall have to comply with the requirements of Govt. of India, if
any, as well as those of Panjab University, Chandigarh as prescribed by them from time to
time.
Admission to PEC for students abroad (including NRIs who meet specified criteria) is being
done centrally by NITK, Surathkal this year. Please see dasanit.org for Direct Admission ofStudents Abroad (DASA) scheme of the Government of India.
2.4. Inter-se Merit for Admission
The inter-se merit of the candidates for admission will be determined on the basis of rank
obtained in AIEEE-2012 only, except in the Sports Category (14) and the categories of codes 15
to 33 given inAnnexure I (page 61).

CHAPTER 3
ON-LINE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
3.1 Submission of Online Application Forms
All candidates desirous of seeking admission to all engineering and architecture programmes
at PEC, CCET, UIET, UICET (formerly known as DCET), UIET PUSSGRC and CCA are required to
visit website www.chdenggadmissions.nic.in to pay initial registration-cum-counselling fee
and to complete the online registration process.
Online Registration by candidates is allowed only in 1st round of counselling. No fresh
registrations will be allowed in the 2nd
and 3rd
rounds of counselling.
The candidate will initiate registration process by entering the following as indicated in the
AIEEE-2012 Admit Card along with email id and phone number.

Then, all eligible candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs. 1200/- as registration-cum-
counselling fees (Non-Refundable) using any of the following modes:
o e-Challan of HDFC Bank.
o Using Debit/Credit Card through HDFC BANK payment gateway services
Payment of initial fee through e-Challan: Before registration, candidates are
required to download the HDFC BANKs e-challan Form and pay an amount of
Rs. 1200/- as initial registration-cum-counselling fees (Non-Refundable) in
any branch of HDFC Bank. After payment, candidates are required to visit
the website once again and fill online registration form and also enter the
e-challan payment details like transaction sequence no, branch code &
branch name, date of deposit etc
Payment of initial fee through Debit/Credit card: Before registration,candidates could directly click at the appropriate link for payment. System
will redirect to the banks payment gateway website and after successful
payment back to the counselling website to complete the registration
process.
Last Date for payment of Registration-cum-Counselling fee is 23rdJune, 2012
The Candidate is also required to give his own password (as per password policy). The lengthof the password must be of 8-13 characters and must be a combination of alphabets,
numeric and special characters.
Next time, the candidate can login directly with Roll number as login ID and the chosen
password as Password. Whenever the candidates Login, they have to Logout at the end.
Candidates are advised to record/remember their password for all future Logins.CONFIDENTIALITY OF THE PASSWORD IS THE SOLE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CANDIDATE and
all care must be taken to protect its security. Candidates are advised not to disclose or share
their password with anybody. NEITHER JOINT ADMISSION COMMITTEE (JAC) NOR NIC ISRESPONSIBLE FOR VIOLATION OR MISUSE OF THE PASSWORD OF THE CANDIDATE.

If a candidate forgets his/her password, the additional information provided by the
candidate at the time of registration will be used to get the new password. Hence, every
candidate has to enter the required additional information as indicated in the registration
form at the time of registration.
A candidate can change his/her password after login, if desired.
A candidate applying for both Engineering and Architecture courses should register only
once and choose course applying for as Both (Engineering & Architecture).
Only those Candidates who have registered online and made payment of registration-cum-
counselling fee are eligible for choice filling.
The candidates belonging to Sports (14) and Defence categories (15 to 33) are also requiredto submit Confirmation page (generated after on-line registration) and JAC copy of e-
challan/EPG receipt to Chairperson JAC 2012, University Institute of Engineering and
Technology, Panjab University, Sector 25, Chandigarh along with self-attested photocopies
of supporting documents for final merit list preparation latest by 3rd July 2012.
3.1.1 Sports Category and son/daughters/spouses of Military/Paramilitary Personnel:
Only the candidates belonging to Sports Category (code 14) and son/daughters/spouses of
Military/Paramilitary Personnel (code 15 to 33 given in Annexure I on page 61) are required to
send their confirmation slips (generated online), JAC copy of e-challan/EPG receipt and self-
attested photocopies of the certificates as mentioned below (whichever applicable). The
confirmation slip must be signed by the candidate & his/her father/mother/guardian at
specified places.
The last date for the submission of confirmation slips along with the required documents for
these categories is 3th July, 2012 up to 5.00 P.M.
Submission can be done by hand in the Admissions Office at University Institute of Engineering
and Technology, Panjab University, Sector 25, Chandigarh or sent by post to the Chairperson,
Joint Admission Committee, University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab
University, Sector 25, Chandigarh so as to reach latest by3rd
July, 2012.
Incomplete/late received/unsigned applications, or applications not supported by the
requisite photocopies of the certificates will be summarily rejected.
(a)For sports category seats of PEC/CCET/CCA/UIET/UICET/ UIET PUSSGRC, applicantsmust submit an affidavit (Annexure IIon page 62) duly attested by a Magistrate class
I/II regarding his/her achievement in sports on stamp paper of Rs 5/-. Besides the
affidavit and sports certificates the candidates should also submit photocopies of class
X and XII certificates. The applicants in sports category are also required to submit a
photocopied set of all the documents at the time of submission of application. If the
candidate wants to apply both in the Institutes located in Panjab University(UIET/
UICET/UIET PUSSGRC) and PEC/CCET/CCA, he/she is required to submit two sets of
photocopied documents.
3.2 Physical reporting for Document verification before choice filling only for the
candidates belonging to following categories:
o Physically Handicapped (05),
o Freedom Fighter (06),
o Kashmiri Migrants (07),

Registered Candidates of any of the main category (General/SC/ST/BC) who want to
avail the benefit of any one or more of the above mentioned categories (05-12) shouldreport in person for verification of various certificates at following address on 27th or
28th
June, 2012 from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. :
Law Auditorium, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh
All candidates must bring original copies along with the self attested photocopies of the
following documents
1. Confirmation slip
2. JAC copy of the e-challan/EPG receipt
3. AIEEE 2012 Result card4. SC/ST/BC certificate if applicable
5. For details about certificates and other relevant documents which are to be
brought for above mentioned categories, please refer to Chapter 5 and
Chapter 6.
Note:
All the certificates claiming reservation under various categories must
have been issued on or before the closing date, i.e. 26th June, 2012.
It is mandatory for the candidates to get the documents verified inorder to be eligible for participating in online counselling. Candidates
who do not appear for document verification will not be considered for
counselling in the above mentioned reserve categories.

CHAPTER 4
ON-LINE COUNSELLING PROCEDURE
4.1 Online Choice Filling
All the registered candidates who have also paid the registration-cum-counselling feeare required to exercise their choices of Institute and Branch in order of their
preference.
Candidates are required to submit their choices in Engineering & Architecture streamseparately, if they are eligible for both streams.
As per the eligibility of the candidate, available seat information relating to Institutionand Branches will be displayed.
Candidates can fill in as much number of choices in the order of preference as they wishto fill, from the list of available choices.
Candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, deleteearlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final
choices.
4.2 MOCK Counselling
Based on the number of registered candidates who have submitted their choices at any
given time, the system will be able to provide an idea of the seats that candidates may
be offered. This indicative seat availability ('Mock Counselling') is to help the candidates
to finalize the most appropriate choice of Institutions.
The indicative seat availability will be displayed at regular intervals during the specified
period on the website. Candidates are advised to visit the website regularly for thispurpose.
The final allotment of seat, in the allotment rounds may be different from theindicative seat availability.
4.3 Choice Locking & Printing of Locked Choices
Candidates MUST lock their choices only after they have finalized them but, in any case,
before 5.00 PM on 7th
July, 2012. The locking of choices involves a few steps afterthe LOCK button is clicked. This includes, entering the password, confirming the
locking etc. Candidate should follow all the steps carefully to complete the locking
procedure.
After the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to change their choices. Aprintable version of the choices along with the terms and conditions agreed by the
candidate at the time of registration is displayed once the choices are locked.
If candidates fail to explicitly lock their choices by 5.00 PM of last date, THEIR LASTSAVED CHOICES WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED after this deadline. Candidates are
therefore strongly advised to lock their choices themselves and take a printout of these
locked choices. Registered candidates who do not exercise any choices or fail to save
them will not be considered for admission and seat allotment. Candidates can login
again after locking the choices; the locked choices will be displayed but cannot be
modified or altered.

4.4 Seat Allotment General Rules
During this step, the choices submitted by the candidates will be processed centrally and
seats will be allotted in the order of merit as per AIR on the basis of the locked choices.
The allotment result will be available on the website
http://www.chdenggadmissions.nic.in.
Participating Institutes are divided in two groups for online payment of admission fees:

* A Candidate who gets admission in BE MBA(Chemical) course of UICET will have to deposit
additional demand draft of Rs. 35000/- in favour JAC-2012, payable at HDFC Bank, Chandigarh at
the time of physical reporting.
Result of seat allotment will be accessible only after login by the candidate. If seat is
allotted then seat allotment details along with amount of fee to be paid as per allotted
institutes Group I or II will be displayed.
Candidates who are allotted a seat first time in any round; will have to pay the admission
fee as per allotted institutes of Group I or II using any of the following modes within the
stipulated time as per counselling schedule(page 72 & 73):
e-challan of HDFC Bank.
Using Debit/Credit Card through HDFC BANK payment gateway services
Payment of admission fee through e-Challan: Candidates are required to
download the HDFC BANKs e-challan from the same website and pay an amount as
per Group I/II in any branch of HDFC Bank. After payment, candidates are required
to visit the website once again and enter the e-challan payment details like
transaction no, branch code & branch name, date of deposit. Candidates are also
required to submit the Willingness for participation for the further round of
counselling.
Payment of admission fee through Debit/Credit card: candidate can
directly click at the appropriate link for payment. System will redirect to the banks

payment gateway website and after successful payment again back to the
counselling website from where it was originated. Candidates are also required to
submit the Willingness for participation for the further round of counselling.
Those candidates, who pay their admission fee as per allotted institutes Group I/II and
submitted willingness for participation for the subsequent rounds, will only beconsidered as successful admitted candidates and also to be considered for further
round of counselling, if desired.
o Important Note: Candidates who get seat allotment first time in any round
and who do not pay their fee as per allotted institutes Group I/II and not
submitted willingness for upgradation, will forfeit their seat allotment
automatically and will not be considered for subsequent online rounds of seat
allotment.
Online Provisional Admission letter (containing seat allotment detail, fee payment detailand willingness for up-gradation) will be generated online for the candidates. Candidates
must take a print out of this letter. In the subsequent rounds due to upgradation,
o If a candidate shifts from Group-I to Group-II, he/she will be refunded Rs.35,000/- after manual counselling by JAC.
o If a candidate shifts from Group-II to Group-I, he/she has to pay additional
Rs.35,000/- to JAC Account, failing which their allotted seat will be automatically
cancelled and candidate will not be considered for subsequent online rounds of
seat allotment. Such upgraded candidates to a new institute will have no claim,
whatsoever, on the seat allotted to them earlier.
Seat allotment through online counselling will be done in three rounds only. In thefirst
round, all the seats will be allotted to the candidates and the result indicating the
institution allotted will be available on the website. In the second and third rounds,
seats will be allotted against the available vacancies in the respective rounds, and the
results will be available on the web site.
A candidate who is offered a seat under different reservation shall be considered for
allotment in OPEN category in subsequent rounds subject to eligibility and availability of
vacant seats.
However, all registered candidates will be eligible for participation in the FOURTH round
of manual counselling irrespective of whether they participated in the three rounds of
online counselling or not. Also, the choices submitted by the candidates for the threeonline rounds of counselling will NOT be valid for the FOURTH round of manual
counselling. Allotments for the vacant seats in this round will be made on the basis of
merit and willingness of the candidates who are physically present.
However, if any candidate desires to cancel his allotment after the fourth round of
manual counselling, he/she will have to approach the allotted institute for cancellation.
Refund rules will be applicable as per institute norms.
Candidates who, at any stage, cancel their provisional admission will not be consideredfor subsequent online rounds of seat allotment.

4.5 First Round of Allotment
The choices locked by the candidates during main counselling, will be processed
centrally and the results will be available on the website.
All the candidates who get an allotment in this round will have to pay the admission feeand submitted willingness for participation for the subsequent rounds as described in
earlier section 4.4, failing which their allotted seat will be automatically cancelled and
candidate will not be considered for subsequent online rounds of seat allotment.
Candidates are not required to go anywhere for Physical reporting after seat
allotment. Payment of fee using any one of the mode and online submission of
willingness for the subsequent rounds will be treated as reporting against allotted
seat.
Based on candidates fee payment and willingness for participation in the subsequent
round, allocated seats and vacant seats will be displayed for 2nd round of counselling.
4.6 Second Round of Counselling
No fresh registrations would be allowed in this round.
In this round all eligible (Type-I & II as indicated below) candidates MUST visit the
website as per counselling schedule and confirm whether they want to be considered for
2nd round of counselling. Option for retaining of earlier choices or fresh choice
submission for this round will be available.
Who is eligible?: The following types of candidates are eligible
o TypeI: Registered candidates who were not allotted any seats in the first round of
seat allotment. These types of candidates MUST visit the website and confirm
whether they want to be considered for 2nd
round of counselling, failing which they
will not be considered for seat allotment in this round. Candidates have an option to
retain earlier choices or fresh choice submission for this round.
o TypeII: Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of counselling and
paid the admission fee as desired and also submitted willingness Yes for
participation for the further rounds. These groups of candidates can also modify
their choices or their 1st round of choices will be considered for 2nd round of seat
allotment. As per new choices, a new seat may be allotted or previous seat will be
retained.
If Type-II candidates do not visit website during specified period for choice
modification then their earlier choices submitted in Round 1 will be considered
for upgradation in round 2.
If Type-II candidates visited during specified period for choice modification then
it is mandatory for these candidates to have previous allotted option as one of
the filled choices in the 2nd round. Failing which, system will not allow to Save or
Lock the modified choices and following message will be shown to the
candidates

Caution: You have to fill your previous allotted choice (Name of the
previous Allotted Institute & Branch will be displayed). Without filling this
choice, you are not allowed to Save/Lock choices. 2nd
Round of Allotment is
purely based on the order of choices submitted in 2nd
round and failing
which your 1st
round of choices will be considered for upgradation in 2nd
round."
TypeIII: Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round of counselling and paidthe admission fee as desired and also submitted willingness NO for participation for
the further rounds. These groups of candidates will not be allowed to modify the choices
for up-gradation in 2nd round. Note: Their old allotted seat will be retained in the same
category or in the up-graded category.
The choices finally submitted by the candidates will be processed centrally and theresults would be made available on the website.
Such candidates of Type I, who get an allotment in this round will have to pay the
admission fee and submit willingness for participation for the subsequent rounds as
described in earlier section 4.4, failing which their allotted seat will be automatically
cancelled and candidate will not be considered for subsequent online rounds of seat
allotment.
Candidates of Type II may get a seat of higher preferred choice or their previously

4.7 Third Round of counselling
No fresh registrations would be allowed in this round.

Who is eligible?: The following types of candidates are eligible

4.8 Physical Reporting at finally Allotted Institute and Document Verification after 3rd
round of counselling
All provisionally admitted candidates of (1st /2nd /3rd rounds) are required to physically report
at the final allotted Institute as per the counselling schedule for document verification and
attending the classes.
All candidates will submit self attested photocopies of the following documents along with
the confirmation slip and JAC copy of the e-challan/EPG receipt at the time of
reporting/counseling as per counselling schedule (Page 72-73):
(i) AIEEE 2012 Result card (for all categories)
(ii) SC/ST certificate
(iii) Medical certificate of handicap for Physically Handicapped candidates
(iv) Certificate as required for admission in the defence under the sub category ofsons/daughters/spouses/self of Military/Paramilitary personnel.
(v) Gradation certificate for sportspersons from Director of Sports, Union Territory of
Chandigarh for seeking admission against sports category in PEC, CCET and CCA.
(vi) Single Girl Child, Cancer/AIDS patient and Kargil Martyrs certificate.
Important Note: All the certificates claiming reservation under various categories must have
been issued on or before the closing date, i.e. 26th June, 2012.
THE CANDIDATE SHOULD REFER TO PAGE No. 70 OF THIS BROCHURE REGARDING THEDOCUMENTS WHICH HE/SHE HAS TO BRING AT THE TIME OF REPORTING/COUNSELLING.
4.8.1 The formats of some of the required certificates are printed in the brochure (pages 54 to 60) for
the guidance of the candidates. Separate certificates bearing the same data as specified in these
sample formats are also acceptable. Original certificates, as prescribed, should be signed by the
authorities mentioned therein, under the legible seal of office.
4.8.2 In case, a candidate does not receive the AIEEE 2012 result card or the AIEEE 2012 result is
delayed, the candidate must submit his/her application by the last date. The candidate
must, however, produce the AIEEE 2012 result card, in original, at the time of
reporting/counselling.

4.9Procedure for the first round of Sports and Defence category Counselling Only the candidates belonging to Sports (14) and Defence categories (15 to 33) will
report at Gymnasium Hall, Panjab University, Sector 14, Chandigarh with all original
documents (and one set of self-attested photocopies) as per the counselling schedule
given on pages 72 and 73 of this brochure.
The first round of allotments will take place on 23 rd July, 2012 for Sports category andon 24
thJuly, 2012 for Defence category.
Those candidates who get a seat allotment in this round in Group I institute or BEMBA(Chemical) course of UICET will have to submit a demand draft of Rs. 45000/-
drawn in favour of JAC-2012 payable at HDFC bank Chandigarh at the time of admission.
Those candidates who get a seat allotment in this round in Group II institute will have tosubmit a demand draft of Rs. 10000/- drawn in favour of JAC-2012 payable at HDFC bank
Chandigarh at the time of admission.
4.10 Multiple Allotments (Engineering & Architecture)
Candidates who are allotted seats in both Engineering and Architecture streams in the
same round, will be given the choice to pay the fee against any one of the two allotments;
the other allotment shall automatically stand cancelled and the candidate will not be
considered for subsequent allotment rounds in that stream.
If a candidate takes provisional admission (fee paid) against an allotted seat in one of the
streams in a particular round and gets a new seat allotment for the other stream in a
subsequent round. Such candidate if desired to pay the fee against new allotted seat then
first they have to Withdraw from the previous seat after that system will allow paying thefee against new seat allotment.
4.11 Withdrawal of Allotted Seat and Refund of Fees
A candidate, who takes provisional admission and want to cancel their allotted seat and
seek the refund of fee BEFORE the fourth round of manual counselling, will have to
personally report for withdrawal and refund at the JAC, Chandigarh as per given
schedule as under. Refund rules will be applicable as per the norms of the allotted

a seat in Group I institute in manual counselling he/she will have to deposit Rs. 35000/-
as fee.
The candidates who will be admitted against the vacant seats in PEC University of

5.2.2 Reserved Categories44.5% seats shall be treated as belonging to the Reserved Categories, as per details given
below:
5.2.2.1 15% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes.5.2.2.2 7.5% for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes.
Interchangeability and transfer of seats:
(a) In the Reserved Category given at 5.2.2.1 and 5.2.2.2, i.e. Scheduled Castes and
Scheduled Tribes, the seats shall be regarded as interchangeable. That is to say,
if a sufficient number of eligible candidates are not available to fill up the seats
reserved for Scheduled Tribes, seats may be filled up from among the eligible
candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and vice versa.
(b) The vacant seats in the reserved categories as remain unfilled shall betransferred to open categories during third counselling after offering admission
to eligible candidates of reserved categories. Any additional seat(s), if createdfor the reserved categories shall stand cancelled in such a case.
NOTE: Seats in reserved categories will be included in the general categories right from the
beginning of the admission in case there were no candidates belonging to these categories
having qualified the entrance test were available.
5.2.2.3 3% for Physically Handicapped candidates: The handicapped candidates should have aminimum of 40% disability duly certified by the Medical Board of P.U. Health Centre. All

f) Ex-servicemen
Ex-servicemen means a person who has served in any rank whether as acombatant or non-combatant in the regular Army, Navy and Air Force of theIndian Union:-
1. who retired from the service after earning his/her pensions; OR2. who has been boarded out of the service on medical grounds attributable to
military service or circumstances beyond his control and awarded medical or
other disability pension OR
3. who has been released from the service as a result of reduction inestablishment OR
4. who has been released from the service after completing the specific periodof engagement (otherwise than at his own request or by way of dismissal ordischarge on account of misconduct or inefficiency) and has been given a
gratuity.
Territorial Army Personnel of the following categories shall also beconsidered as ex-servicemen;
a) pension holders for continuous embodied service;
b) Disabled Territorial Army Personnel with disability attributable tomilitary service
c) Gallantry award winners.5.2.2.7 2% for Sons/Daughters/Husband/Wife/Brothers/Sisters of persons killed/ incapacitated
in November, 1984 riots and of persons killed/incapacitated in terrorist violence in
Punjab and Chandigarh or subject to any other criteria approved by the University. A
Certificate from the District Magistrate to this effect must be submitted by the
candidate. Migrant Card alone is not enough.
5.2.2.8 2% for the Children/Grand children of freedom fighters who have been sanctionedpension by Central/State Govt. or awarded Tamra Patra by Government of India or
those who have been certified to be freedom fighters by the Centre/State Governments.
5.2.2.9 One additional seat in each course has been created for Kashmiri Migrants. A candidateseeking admission against this seat is required to produce a certificate from the deputycommissioner/relief commissioner of the concerned district to the effect that the
candidate belongs to a migrant family from Jammu & Kashmir. The admission of a
candidate against this category shall be provisional subject to verification of his/her
above mentioned certificate by the issuing authority or subject to the approval of the
competent authority.
5.2.2.10 Two additional seat for the Only(single) girl child for admission to a given course in thePanjab University and its affiliated colleges provided she is otherwise eligible from all
angles. A copy of an affidavit on a stamp paper worth Rs.20/- duly attested by Ist Class
Magistrate, to be obtained from the parents of the girl child is also enclosed (see page
59).

(iii) Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI candidates shall also have to comply with any otherrequirements prescribed by the Govt. of India and Panjab University, from time totime.
Foreign Nationals/PIO/NRI candidates shall provide the following certificates/ documents:
(i) Academic certificate of passing the qualifying or equivalent examination asprescribed for each course to which admission is being sought.
(ii) Test score of Scholastic Aptitude Test II (SAT-II). The score in SAT-II would benormalized at par with the corresponding test held by CBSE, AIEEE-2012 in case ofapplicants from abroad.
(iii) Payment of prescribed tuition fees (payable annually) and all other dues and chargesin full to the Panjab University, Chandigarh immediately after the admission is
granted to the candidate as also during the subsequent year of study. Tuition fee
shall be paid in U.S. Dollars/Pounds/Sterling/Euros or equivalent amount in Indian
currency with a bank certificate for encashment of foreign currency through Bank
Draft in favour of the Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh. In addition to tuition
fees he/she shall also pay all other dues and charges to the Panjab University aspayable by other students of the same class belonging to same category in foreign

All India) and shall be filled in the branch of Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering on the
basis of the combined merit list drawn by CBSE based on AIEEE-2012. Provided further that if this seat

remains vacant after the first round of online counselling, then it will be filled during the fourth manual
round of counselling.A candidate seeking admission against this reserved seat is required to produce a certificate, from the
Deputy Commissioner / Relief Commissioner of the concerned district, to the effect that he/she belongs to a
migrant family from Jammu & Kashmir. The admission of a candidate against this category will beprovisional, subject to the verification of his/her above mentioned certificate by the issuing authority.
(d) Admission of International Students

categories clubbed together as per the criterion (i), (ii) and (iii) of 1 above.
In addition, the Chairman Senate shall be fully authorized/empowered to financially help a student on
compassionate grounds in case of an emergency.(iv) In addition to the scholarships given by PEC University of Technology mentioned at (i), (ii) and (iii)
above, many other scholarships offered by various other Govt. and non Govt. organizations are also
offered to the students, as and when applicable. A few scholarships under this category are:
1. Bharti Scholarships
2. Central Sector Scholarships for SC/ST students.
3. Post Matric Scholarships for SC/ST students.
Note: The students who are granted free-ship in either of the categories above cannot avail reimbursement
of tuition fee in the form of any other scholarship. They have to give an affidavit that they are not
availing any other scholarship from anywhere which reimburses full or part of the tuition fee.
REFUND RULES
1. The amount of Rs. 1200/- (plus bank service charges) paid by a student as registration-cum-counselingfee is non-refundable.
2. The refundable deposits will be fully refunded whenever the student withdraws his admission from the
institute.
3. If a student after being granted admission pays the fee but does not registerwith the institute on the
prescribed date, withdraws his admission and applies for refund, the entire fee paid by him/her shall be
refunded except for the non-refundable Rs. 1200/- (plus bank charges) paid as registration-cum-
counseling fee.
4. If a student after being granted admission pays the fee and registers with the institute on the prescribed
date but withdraws his admission later and applies for refund before the date of final counselling for
admission for the particular year, his/her admission fee and Rs. 1200/- (plus bank charges) paid as
registration- cum-counseling fee will be forfeited. The other fees paid by him/her (including hostel/mess
fees in case of a hosteller) will be refunded after making deductions proportionate to the entire period
starting from the month of registration to the month of application for refund (part of each month being
counted as a full month).
A student who withdraws his/her seat after the final counselling for admissions for the year has taken place ,
will not be entitled to refund of any fee paid by him/her except for the refundable deposits.

5.5.3 CHANDIGARH COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, CHANDIGARH (CCA)
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
For B.Arch Course
The admission to the First Semester B.Arch. Course will be open to a candidate who,
(i) has qualified in the All India Engineering/Pharmacy/Architecture Entrance Examination
(AIEEE-2012), with Architecture Aptitude test conducted by the CBSE (See Note 1
below).
(ii) has passed an examination at the end of the new 10+2 scheme of Senior School
Certificate Examination or equivalent with Mathematics and English as subjects of
examinations at the +2 level (not earlier than March/April-2010) with minimum 50%
marks in aggregate (See Note 2 below)
OR
has passed 3-year Diploma in Architecture(10+3) (not earlier than March/April 2010)
recognized by the Central/State Governments provided the candidate passed the
Diploma examination with 50% marks in aggregate.
However, a candidate who gets a compartment in the 10+2/Diploma in Architecture
examination held in March/April 2012 will not be eligible for admission even if he/sheclears the same (by appearing in the supplementary examination) before the counselling
date.
NOTE:
1. A candidate must secure a minimum of 15 percent marks in the All India
Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) to qualify for admission. However,
candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes/Tribes and Physically Handicapped
categories shall be eligible if they secure a minimum of 10 percent of the
maximum marks of AIEEE 2012.
2. Candidates who have passed the +2 examinations of Mahila Gram Vidyapith,
Allahabad, will not be considered for admission.

Seat for the wards of Direct Descendents of Kargil Martyrs
Within total sanctioned intake of 40 seats, one seat has been created by the Chandigarh Administration
for wards of Direct Descendents of the Kargil Martyrs vide No.19/1/3-IH(3)-2007/19947 dated 5.10.2007.
This seat does not belong to any specific quota (State/All India) and shall be filled in by the eligible
candidate on the basis of the eligibility criteria and combined merit list drawn by CBSE on the basis of
AIEEE-2012.
A candidate seeking admission against this reserved seat is required to produce a valid certificate, from the
Ministry of Defence to the effect that he/she is a ward of Direct Descendents of Kargil Martyrs. The
admission of a candidate against this category will be provisional, subject to the verification of his/her
above-mentioned certificate by the issuing authority.
Eligibility Criteria for Nominees from Deficient States/UTs
The beneficiary States/UTs shall nominate the candidates either on the basis of merit in the qualifying
examination (10+2) or on the basis of an Entrance Test conducted by the beneficiary State/UT. The
condition of having obtained at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination will be observed if thenomination is made on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination alone, but in case of an Entrance Test
forming the basis of nomination, no minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination will be
insisted upon and mere pass in the qualifying examination will be considered enough.
In respect of SC/ST candidates, the condition of having obtained at least 60% marks in the qualifying
examination is not applicable. However, they must have passed the qualifying examination in a single
sitting.
NOTE: If any seat under this category remains unfilled, it cannot be shifted to any other
category.
Important Notes:
THE PROCEDURE/GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP OF SEATS UNDER RESERVED CATEGORIES ARE COMMON
WITH THE PUNJAB ENGINEERING COLLEGE, CHANDIGARH AND THE SAME ARE ALSO APPLICABLE TO
CHANDIGARH COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE.
JOINING Chandigarh College of Architecture
i) Admission Fee: Fees payable at the time of admission is Rs. 10000/-
and the same is payable to Joint Admission Committee
(JAC) Account.
NOTE:
1. The above fee is subject to change as per instructions of Chandigarh Administration from
time to time.
2. Financial assistance is available for meritorious students belonging to SC category under a
scheme introduced by the Chandigarh Administration (Please refer to concerned page for

session onwards. In case non availability of student/s in a specific category, it will be
given to any other candidate, according to merit.
4. Adjustment/refund of exact amount of fee will be made by the Institute subsequent to
admission and joining the classes.
5.6 PROCEDURE FOR FILLING UP OF SEATS UNDER RESERVED CATEGORIES
(COMMON TO PEC, CCET & CCA ONLY)
5.6.1 General
(a) Every candidate applying for admission against reserved seats, belonging to any category, could also
be considered for admission against the open seats of the respective quota, as per his/her merit.
Depending on his/her preference for a college/branch, a candidate may take admission against
his/her reserved category or against the open category. If an applicant belonging to any reserved
category is admitted against the open seats on the basis of his/her AIEEE rank, then he/she will not
be counted against the reserved seat.
(b) The student who has applied in more than one reserved category is to be considered in each
reserved category in which he/she has applied for admission maintaining his/her inter-se seniority in
each reserved category on the basis of merit in each category. In such a case, the student will get
the benefit in one category of his/her choice or as per his/her preference of branches submitted at
the time of counselling. However, no further reservation shall be allowed within the reserved
categories.
(c) In case, seats belonging to any reserved category remain unfilled for want of eligible candidates, thesame may be filled from amongst open category candidates belonging to the same quota. Seats in
the Chandigarh Quota and All India Quota are not interchangeable.
NOTE: In case of All India Quota, if a seat belonging to the SC category remains unfilled, it will first bethrown open to the ST category candidates, and vice-versa. Only after all the eligible candidatesin both the SC & ST categories have been considered, a vacant seat belonging to any of these
categories, can be offered to an open category candidate.
Shifting of a candidate from a reserved category seat to an open category seat:
A candidate who has already been admitted to a particular college & branch against a reserved
category seat (during the counselling for such seats) will be automatically shifted to an open category
seat in the same college & branch (during the counselling for the open category seats held after that for
the reserved categories) provided he/she is eligible for the same as per his/her merit in the open
category. The reserved category seat(s) falling vacant as a result of any such shifting will be offered
subsequently to other eligible candidate(s) belonging to the same reserved category as per merit. A
separate time slot is provided in the counselling schedule for this purpose (after the counselling for the
open category seats)
5.6.2 Category-wise Conditions

certificate from the competent authority at the time of counselling.
