iOS EMM Enrollment Process
Before starting the
device enrollment
procedure, make sure
your device is
disconnected from the
“WUSM-Secure”
wireless network.
Use either the “Guest”
wireless network, or
your mobile data
service if available on
your device.
Download the free
Airwatch Agent in app
store. Search for
“AirWatch MDM Agent”
if you can’t find it.
Launch the app once
installed.
One the initial screen,
select “Continue
without email
address”.
Enter
https://mdm.wusm.wustl.edu as the server and your domain (i.e. DOM) as the Group ID
Press "Continue" to proceed.
Enter your username
and password in the
fields presented.
These will be the same
as your domain (i.e.
DOM) login
information.
Press “Continue” to
proceed.
iOS allows device
management by
installing a
management profile –
click “Install” when
prompted.
It will display a
message about the
profile being unsigned.
– click “Install Now”
If you already have a
passcode set for your
device, you’ll be
prompted for it to
continue.
iOS will display a prompt
about the permissions
being granted to manage
the device – click
“Install”
We are only using the
permissions that allow
us to ensure your device
complies with existing
Wash U Policy
The next dialog should
inform you that the
profile has been installed
– click “Done”
AirWatch will declare
the enrollment
process has
completed.
Once enrollment is complete, the device will start receiving profiles pushed to the device.
Presently the only profiles that are pushed across the entire Med School are for Passcode and
Encryption.
If your iOS device
already has a passcode,
then you won’t have to
do anything further.
If you have not setup a
passcode, when you
return to the home
screen, you will be
prompted to set one
up.
Your passcode must be at least a 4 digit PIN. You may choose a longer passcode with letters if you choose.
After you have
completed the steps
above, you should now
be able to access the
WUSM-Secure wireless
network form your iOS
device. If you
experience any
problems with the
network, you may see
page similar to the one
display when you
browse the Internet.
