AwatertowerbuiltinaccordancewiththeIntzePrinciplehasabrickshaftonwhichthewatertanksits.Thebaseofthetankisfixedwitharinganchor(Ringanker)madeofironorsteel,sothatonlyvertical,nothorizontal,forcesaretransmittedtothetower.Duetothelackofhorizontalforcesthetowershaftdoesnotneedtobequiteassolidlybuilt.[1]ThistypeofdesignwasusedinGermanybetween1885and1905.
