CourseDescriptionThiscoursewillexplorethemanyfunctionsoftheprofessionallevelDAW,LogicProX.StudentswillgainanunderstandingoftheintricaciesofaudioandMIDI,includinglearningaboutsignalflow,mixing,recording,andcomputeraidedcomposition.Thiscoursewillintroduceanover-archingsetoftechniquesandprinciplesthatstudentscantransferandutilizeintheirhomeschools.

StudentLearningOutcomesAttheconclusionofthisgraduatemusiceducationcourse,studentswill:

- UnderstandthefoundationaltenetsofLogicProX- Understand,planandapplyknowledgeofLogicProXtothecomputerlab/sharedcomputerintheirhome

school- Becomeproficientinunderstandingandusingthebasicsofsignalflow,mixing,recording,andcomputeraided

compositionforuseathomeinstitutionsforlivesoundproductionpurposes

GradingCriteriaandAssessmentMethods

Courseassessment,evaluationandgradingisbaseduponthreefactors:(1)thecompletionofthepre-assignment,(2)activeengagementindailycoursestudiesand(3)inthecompletionofthefinalassignment/post-assignment.Belowistherubricthatwillbeutilizedbyfacultytoassessandevaluatestudentsinthesethreecategoriesoflearningandunderstanding.Pleasenotethatpre-assignmentandfinal/postassignmentsshouldbeincludedinthecourseoutlineattheendofthissyllabus.
