LETTER FROM CEOThe YMCA of Gloucester County has been a staple in the community for 106 years! Though visitors come to our facility to use our fitness equipment, beautiful gymnasium and pool, we are more than a fitness center. The YMCA of Gloucester County is a cause driven nonprofit organization, working to strengthen the foundations of community by focusing on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
We are proud to say that we are in more than 10 communities providing varied programs. At our facility, in the heart of Woodbury, we provide most of the YMCA foundational programs such as swim lessons, youth programming, services for active older adults, health and wellbeing plus much more. We’ve also worked hard to establish relationships with local organizations that also have in interest in Gloucester County. It’s these partnerships that help us to enhance and enrich our offerings as well as develop new programming to better meet the needs of the communities we serve. Come and see what we do and how you can be a part of the Y. We are so much more than you know.
When you come to visit our facility you may see capital improvement in progress. You will also notice that the Y has a new partnership. The City of Woodbury Community Policing substation launched in February 2018 at our facility on Red Bank Avenue. The substation provides a centralized location allowing the residents to access improved community oriented policing services in a convenient location.
Our program enhancements including our outcomes based swim lessons along with the relaunch of youth programming options like dance and STEM workshops are a sampling of upgrades available. If you can join us for Health Kids Day on Saturday, April 21, 2018 you will see us launch our Farmers Market initiative.
Come and see what we are doing and how you can be a part of the Y. As a member, volunteer, advocate or friend. There is always a place at the Y!
Melissa
