Pace University offers you so many opportunities.
I joined several student clubs, I studied abroad in Italy, and
I interned for 2 nonprofit organizations and a stock brokerage firm during my degree. I could narrow my
professional focus while also getting experience in several different fields. Pace gave me this and much more. It’s been
an amazing experience!

A tradition of supportThe University offers merit-based scholarships to outstanding students. This generosity dates back to its founders. Following the stock market crash of 1929, Homer Pace, the school’s 1st president, forfeited his own salary and extended $100,000 of tuition credit (over $1 million in current value) to help students pay for their education.

I believe student participation is important, as it makes the class more engaging and brings a new knowledge into the classroom through students’ ideas. It also develops their confidence in sharing their own opinions.
For example, I might have students watch 2 short videos, discuss similarities and differences, and then together we will outline an essay that compares and contrasts both the videos. Or I’ll show a piece of writing and have the whole class make suggestions for how to improve it.
I challenge my students because their assignments will become more demanding as they progress in their studies. They are going to meet professors with high expectations in their upper level classes. I also hope my class introduces them to aspects of American culture that will help them make friends with American students and feel comfortable participating in mainstream classrooms.
I love working with international students because I want to see them succeed. Higher education in another language can be challenging for them, so offering them support is very satisfying. I also love learning from them — international students bring diverse ideas and experiences to the classroom that I would not be able to learn elsewhere.

Quick guide to US higher education
> Bachelor’s degrees include courses in your chosen “major” and a broad range of other subjects. It is common for students to change major in the 1st or 2nd year.
> Transfer admission is common in the USA: many undergraduate students change university after 2 years to complete their degree at another institution.
> Master’s degrees are advanced-level study, and are more focused than bachelor’s degrees. Masters are also known as "graduate" degrees.
> Optional Practical Training (OPT) allows international students with an F-1 visa to stay in the USA and do paid work related to their degree after graduation.

Learning English has opened up the
world to me, so I think it’s important to expand my knowledge of the language. The
Global Pathways program at Pace
helped me so much. I also visited Pace’s academic support
centers, where they identified my
challenges and gave suggestions on how to overcome them. I don’t feel like I’m treated differently
here because I’m an international student.
In fact I’m treated really well, which
makes me love Pace even more.

* Where a credit range is shown, the program includes some foundation courses that can be waived. Students who have an undergraduate business background may already fulfill foundation course requirements, and would therefore need only to complete the lower number of credits. This also minimizes the tuition fee and living costs because the degree program can be completed more quickly.
