There is no better way to learn: IRCAD, 24 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE
J. Marescaux F.
MD, FACS, Hon. FRCS, Hon. FJSES, Hon. FASAProfessor of digestive surgery, President of IRCAD
More than 5,500 surgeons come to Strasbourg every year to get familiar with laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, to meet prominent international experts, watch live operative demonstrations and practice on live tissue or on anatomical specimens in the completely renovated operating room equipped with 20 laparoscopic units.
IRCAD is aware of the constant evolution of minimal access surgery, and organizes courses in flexible interventional endoscopy.
In order to welcome course participants and experts in the best possible way, IRCAD has bought and renovated “Les Haras”, located 50 meters away from the institute, bringing the magic of Strasbourg’s national stud farm back to life. This allows to: accommodate trainees in Strasbourg’s most prestigious hotel, where they can meet fac ulty members;
dine in an exceptional brasserie restaurant, run by 3-star Michelin Chef Marc Haeberlin.
Join us! Our staff will be delighted to look after you during your stay at IRCAD.
Over these last few years, the minimally invasive approach has gradually superseded the conventional open approach in several urological surgery indications.
Thanks to the quality of operative vision provided by high-definition 2D or 3D cameras and to the precision of laparoscopic surgery maneuvers, this minimally invasive approach has allowed to improve the quality and accuracy of interventions and to ensure their safety, mainly for cancer treatment. Surgical progress combined with robotic assistance and conventional laparoscopy have gradually taken off and led to enhanced precision surgery.
All urological procedures using these laparoscopic or robot-assisted techniques make up IRCAD training programs in urological surgery.
Intensive courses will be split between theoretical sessions organized by world-renowned experts and hands-on sessions in the experimental lab with all these laparoscopic and robotic technologies supplied.
In addition, courses in urological surgery offer educational training in endo-urology (flexible endoscopy) as well as a specific training to single port laparoscopy.
