ISDT is a national training partner of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) through Ministry of Skill and Entrepreneurship Development under Skill India Mission.

The National Skill Development Corporation, (NSDC) is a one of its kind, Public Private Partnership in India, under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions.
Vision
NSDC was set up as part of a national skill development mission to fulfill the growing need in India for skilled manpower across sectors and narrow the existing gap between the demand and supply of skill. The Union Finance Minister announced the formation of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in his Budget Speech (2008-209):- ..... There is a compelling need to launch a world -class skill development programme in a mission mode that will address the challenge of imparting the skills required by a growing economy. Both the structure and the leadership of the mission must be such that the programme can be scaled up quickly to cover the whole country“

Upgrade skills to international standards through significant industry involvement and v\develop necessary frameworks for standards, curriculum and quality assurance
Enhance, support and coordinate private sector initiatives for skill development through appropriate Public Private Partnership (PPP) models; strive for significant operational and financial involvement from the private sector
Play the role of a "market-maker" by brining financing, particularly in sectors where market mechanism are ineffective or missing
prioritize initiatives that can have a multiplier or catalytic effect as opposed to one- off impact

Eligibility:- Fresher Or Experience of Eye Hospital
Duration :- 18 Months
Mode: flexible learning\full time

Exams: Final exams in April
Passing percentage: 40%

1) Communication English and computer fundamentals (MS Office)2) Ocular anatomy & Physiology3) Basic Microbiology, Pathology & Pharmacology4) Visual Optics & Principal of Refraction5) Optometric Instruments6) Clinical Ophthalmology: Ocular conditions & diseases7) Eye testing: vision, refraction, history taking8) Optometry workshop9) Community optometry10)Optometric nursing: assisting ophthalmologist
After completing Diploma in Optometry, candidate is expected to do following :
Vision, History taking & Refraction
Use of instruments like: slit lamp, keratometer, lensometer, retinoscope,
Ophthalmoscope & other OPD instruments
Can do complete work up independently/ under Ophthalmologist
Assist Ophthalmologist in OPD & surgery as OT assistantPatient counseling
Detection of eye conditions like cataract, red eye etc. and send referral cases to Ophthalmologist.
Eye testing and spectacle Dispensing
Can get jobs in Hospitals, Ophthalmic clinics, Optical outlets and abroadetc.
Advantages

Assist in Ophthalmologist in OPD & Surgery as OT Assistant
Create manpower for eye testing camp manpower for detection of eye conditions like
cataract red eye etc. and send referral cases to Ophthalmologist
Patient counseling on the basis on scientific knowledge
Refractionist provides vision care and refraction under the supervision of an ophthalmologist.
Advantages To Hospital
Completed application form with documents should reach at office before
Attach DD of Rs. 40000/-(Indian Rupees) in favor of ISDT Or Transfer amount on
ISDTPL account.
Attach attested 12th pass mark-sheet, pan card, Aadhar card, experience
certificate if any,
6 passport size photographs.
Once all the documents with fees received, ISDT will allot registration no.& ID
card within 45 days of submission of form
College will send study material in soft copies and monthly assignments
College will intimate students regarding workshops as scheduled.
