Gotthe x-rays back and the MRI and he’s going to require surgery, which more than likely will cost him his season, unfortunately. Hick,he’s done an outstanding job for us and he was having a good ballgame and a good camp. Obviously just feel sick for Justin and allthose type of things. That hurts us to lose a guy, hurts us to loseanybody, but obviously feel bad for Hick. “Cassius Vaughn, his x-rays and MRI came back negative so that’sa positive. He had had surgery on that wrist a while back and I thinkmainly what happened, he got hit on it and probably tore up somescar tissue, things like that, but he’ll be day-to-day.”“Montori Hughes will be day-to-day with that stinger, just got to re-gain some strength.”

COACHES

Coaching Years in NFL: 12th YearColts Head Coach: 2nd YearOverall Regular Season: 11-5 (.688)Overall Postseason: 0-1 (.000)Chuck Pagano's 2012 season proved to be one ofthe most inspirational stories in NFL history. Namedhead coach of the Indianapolis Colts on January25, 2012, Pagano was forced to take a leave of ab-

sence just three games into the season after being diagnosed withacute promyelocytic leukemia, a curable form of the disease, whichis a cancer of the blood and bone marrow cells.Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians assumed interim head coachingduties and he and the Colts defied the odds and rallied to a 9-3 record.During that time frame, Indianapolis secured a playoff berth and ac-complished one of their primary goals – extending the season forPagano. Some of the victories during Arians' term included a come-back win against Green Bay (Week 5) after trailing by 18 points, anovertime victory on the road at Tennessee (Week 8) and a last secondvictory in Detroit (Week 13). In all, the Colts posted a 9-1 record inone-possession games in 2012, including winning their last eight. As much as Chuck Pagano inspired the 2012 Colts, the team did justthe same for their ailing head coach. From his hospital bed, Paganowas in constant communication with the coaching staff and players. He analyzed practices while continuing to game-plan schemes. Alongthe way, Pagano continued to make his presence felt. After the team'sWeek 9 victory against Miami, the head coach gave a moving post-game speech to the contingent in the locker room."I've got circumstances," Pagano told the locker room. "You guysunderstand it, I understand it. It's already beat (referring to theleukemia). It's already beat. My vision that I'm living is to see twomore daughters get married, dance at their weddings and then hoistthat Lombardi Trophy several times."Pagano made another return three weeks later during the team'swin against Buffalo where he appeared in Owner & CEO Jim Irsay'ssuite while saluting the crowd on hand. Pagano received a rousingovation from Colts fans in attendance. As the regular season came to an end, the culmination of Arians'stretch as interim head coach concluded with the team's playoff-clinching victory at Kansas City (Week 16). The stage was set forPagano to return after missing 12 weeks of action.Division rival Houston visited Lucas Oil Stadium in the regular sea-son finale in hopes of clinching the AFC's No. 1 seed in the playoffs. The Colts were not deterred, however, as the team corralled theemotion in Pagano's return and compiled a 28-16 win to finish theregular season with an 11-5 record. The real victory, however, wasthe return of a healthy Chuck Pagano. It was a day the Colts organ-ization and fans will remember for generations.Indianapolis' playoff run ended earlier than the team had wishedafter falling to the eventual Super Bowl XLVII champion BaltimoreRavens in an AFC Wild Card playoff contest. What was not lostwere the numerous team and individual milestones that the Coltsestablished in a season facing low expectations. Most notably, the11-5 record was a nine-win improvement from the 2011 campaign, which tied for the third-largest one-year turnaround in NFL history. The Colts also registered their 12th 10-plus win season in the past14 years, which is the most of any NFL team since 1999. Paganoand Arians were honored together by the Maxwell Football Club asthe recipients of the 24th Annual Earle "Greasy" Neale Award forProfessional Coach of the Year. The two also garnered AFC Coachof the Year honors as winners of the annual NFL 101 Awards.Pagano was selected by the PFWA as the winner of the 2013George Halas Award, given to an NFL player, coach or staff mem-ber who overcame the most adversity to succeed. Each year, theFritz Pollard Alliance Foundation recognizes individuals who makea difference in diversity and inclusion at an annual awards banquet. In February of 2013, Pagano received the foundation's Game BallAward for the differences he has made to level the playing field inthe NFL for minorities.

Coaching Years in NFL: 26th YearGiants Head Coach: 10th YearOverall Regular Season: 151-121 (.555)Overall Postseason: 12-7 (.632)Tom Coughlin enters his 10th season as the headcoach of the New York Giants. His signature achievements are the Giants’ victo-

ries against the New England Patriots in Super Bowls XLII andXLVI. Coughlin’s 2-0 record in Super Bowls makes him the 13thhead coach to win multiple Super Bowls and is one-of-18 coacheswith a perfect Super Bowl record. In 17 seasons as an NFL head coach, Coughlin is 151-121 (.555)in the regular season and 12-7 (.632) in the postseason for an over-all record of 163-128 (.560). The 151 regular season victories tiehim with former Giants coach and Hall of Famer Steve Owen for16th place on the NFL’s career list. Coughlin’s 163 total victoriesplace him 16th on that list, five wins behind former Minnesota coachand Hall of Famer Bud Grant. Coughlin has led the JacksonvilleJaguars and the Giants to five division titles and nine playoff berths.Coughlin is also one of the best coaches in the Giants’ 89-year his-tory. He is just the second man in Giants history to coach the teamfor at least 10 consecutive seasons. Only Owen, who reigned for24 seasons from 1930-53, led the team for a longer time period. With Andy Reid’s departure from Philadelphia, Coughlin is thelongest-tenured coach in the NFC East. Coughlin has been the Gi-ants’ coach since 2004. Dallas’ Jason Garrett and Washington’sMike Shanahan joined their teams in 2010 and Chip Kelly is a new-comer with the Eagles.Coughlin has the NFL’s third-longest head coaching tenure with oneteam, behind New England’s Bill Belichick (who is in his 14th seasonwith the team) and Cincinnati’s Marvin Lewis (in his 11th season).Last year, Coughlin passed Hall of Famer Bill Parcells (77 regular-season victories) and moved into second place on the Giants’ ca-reer coaching list. He finished the season with 83 victories and trailsonly Owen, who won a record 151 games as the Giants’ headcoach.Coughlin’s eight Giants postseason victories tie him with Parcellsfor the franchise record.
