The Indianapolis Colts will host the ChicagoBears in their 2015 preseason home opener.Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. at Lucas Oil Sta-dium.

The matchup will mark the 16th all-time meetingbetween the teams in the preseason, with theBears holding a 9-5-1 overall advantage. It willmark the first time the Bears have traveled to In-dianapolis for a preseason game since 2007.

Last week, the Colts lost to the Philadelphia Ea-gles by the score of 36-10. The Colts were firstto put points on the board when kicker Adam

Vinatieri converted a 32-yard field goal on Indianapolis’ second pos-session of the game. First-round draft pick wide receiver PhillipDorsett led the Colts in receiving with four receptions for 51 yards,while fellow rookie running back Josh Robinson led the team in rush-ing with 44 yards and one touchdown.

Rookie inside linebacker Amarlo Herrera led Indianapolis’ defensewith five tackles and one interception as the Eagles converted only 3-of-14 third down attempts.

Prior to this week’s game, the Colts will host the Bears at the Indi-ana Farm Bureau Football Center. The teams will conduct joint prac-tices on Wednesday, Aug. 19 and Thursday, Aug. 20 in advance ofthe preseason contest on Aug. 22.

This marks the fourth time that the Colts have participated in jointpractices with another team as they did so with the St. Louis Rams(1997, ‘99) and Tennessee Titans (2000). It will be the first time thatthe team has hosted such an arrangement in Indianapolis.

PRO CAREER: Named head coach of the Indi-anapolis Colts on January 25, 2012. In three sea-sons as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts,Chuck Pagano has led the team to three consecu-

tive 11-5 regular season records and playoff berths each year. Heis only the second head coach in NFL history to earn 11 wins ineach of his first three seasons with a team and the third head coachin Colts history to reach the playoffs in each of his first three years.

In 2014, Pagano led the Colts to a perfect 6-0 division record forthe second straight year, marking the first time in franchise historythey’ve accomplished the feat in back-to-back seasons. The Coltsclaimed their ninth AFC South title since 2002, which is the second-most division titles of any NFL team during that span. Indianapolisalso won two postseason contests and made it back to the AFCChampionship Game for the first time since 2009.

In 2013, Indianapolis recorded a perfect 6-0 division record for thefirst time since 2009 and claimed its eighth division title since 2002.In 2013, Indianapolis placed 17 players on Injured Reserve, includ-ing six starters, and witnessed an NFL-high 73 different players takeat least one snap with the team. Pagano guided the Colts to a winover the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Wild Card Playoff game thatmarked the second-largest comeback in NFL postseason history.

In 2012, the Colts overcame the loss of Pagano to acute promye-locytic leukemia for 12 games and responded with seven fourthquarter or overtime game-winning drives en route to an 11-5 cam-paign.

Pagano previously spent four seasons with the Baltimore Ravens,the last (2011) as the team’s defensive coordinator. He also servedas the defensive backs coach of the Oakland Raiders (2005-06)and the secondary coach of the Cleveland Browns (2001-04).

CAREER RECORD: 36-18.

BACKGROUND: Pagano was a safety at Wyoming from 1980-83.Coached collegiately at Southern California (1984-85), Miami(1986), Boise State (1987-88), East Carolina (1989), Nevada-LasVegas (1990-91), East Carolina (1992-94), Miami (1995-2000),North Carolina (2007).

Prior to coaching the Panthers, Fox was the defensive coordinatorfor the New York Giants (1997-2001). In 2000, Fox helped theGiants reach Super Bowl XXXV, including posting the first shutoutin a conference title game since 1986.

Before joining the Giants, Fox was a Rams’ consultant (1996), de-fensive coordinator for the Raiders (1994-95), defensive backscoach for the Chargers (1992-93) and Steelers (1989-1991), andsecondary coach for the USFL’s Los Angeles Express (1985).

CAREER RECORD: 127-96.

BACKGROUND: Defensive back at San Diego State (1976-77).Coached collegiately at San Diego State (1978), U.S. International(1979), Boise State (1980), Long Beach State (1981), Utah (1982),Kansas (1983), Iowa State (1984) and Pittsburgh (1986-88). ADDITIONS THROUGH FREE AGENCY

OLB-TRENT COLEStarted 145-of-155 games over the past 10 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (2005-2014). Cole has recorded double-digit sacks in fourseasons and since entering the league in 2005, his 85.5 career sacks rank eighth in the NFL. His career sacks rank second in Eagles history,trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famer Reggie White. Cole registered a career-high 12.5 sacks in 2007 and 2009 and was named to the ProBowl after each season. In 2014, he started all 14 games he played in and totaled 20 quarterback hurries (second on team), 6.5 sacks (third onteam), 12.5 tackles for loss (third on team) and three forced fumbles (tied for third on team).

RB-FRANK GOREThe five-time Pro Bowler joins Indianapolis after a 10-year career with the San Francisco 49ers (2005-2014). Gore leaves San Francisco as thefranchise leader in rushing yards (11,073), attempts (2,442) and rushing touchdowns (64). His 13,956 scrimmage yards rank second in 49ershistory, trailing only Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice. Gore’s 11,073 career rushing yards are the 20th most in NFL history as he is one-of-four players to rush for 11,000 yards while playing for one team. He is one of only 11 players in NFL history to have at least eight 1,000-yardseasons and Gore’s 60 consecutive starts at running back are the most among all active running backs in the NFL. In 2014, he started all 16games and registered his fourth-consecutive 1,000-yard season, as he finished with 1,106 yards on 255 carries (4.3 avg.) and four touchdowns,

while contributing 11 receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown. Gore’s career year came in 2006 when he set career highs in carries (312), rushingyards (1,695), yards per carry (5.4), receptions (61) and receiving yards (485).

G-TODD HERREMANSStarted 124-of-127 career games over 10 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (2005-2014). His 124 starts and 127 games played rank sixthand 11th, respectively, in Eagles history for an offensive lineman. Last season, Herremans started all eight games he played in and helped pavethe way for the league’s third-leading rusher, LeSean McCoy, who finished the season with 1,319 yards on the ground. In 2013, Herremans waspart of an offensive line that helped block for the league’s leading rusher McCoy, who finished with a franchise-record 1,607 rushing yards asthe Eagles set team records in points scored (442) and total net yards (6,676).

ILB-NATE IRVINGPlayed in 54 games (12 starts) for the Denver Broncos over the last four seasons (2011-14) and registered 81 tackles (49 solo), 2.0 sacks, twopasses defensed and 22 special teams tackles. Irving has seen action in six postseason games (three starts) and recorded nine solo tacklesand one pass defensed. In 2014, Irving started all eight games he played in and finished with a career-high 44 tackles (25 solo) and 1.0 sack.He played in 15 games (four starts) in 2013 and recorded 34 tackles (23 solo), 1.0 sack and one pass defensed. Irving also started all threepostseason contests for the Broncos, including Super Bowl XLVII, where he had three tackles and one pass defensed.

WR-ANDRE JOHNSONThe seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time Associated Press All Pro started all 169 games over the past 12 seasons with the Houston Texanssince being selected by the team in the first round (3rd overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami. Johnson is the Texans all-time leader in receptions (1,012), receiving yards (13,597) and receiving touchdowns (64). He enters the 2014 season ranked ninth in NFLhistory in receptions and 12th in receiving yards and holds the NFL record with 21 career games with 10-or-more receptions and 100-or-morereceiving yards. Johnson has twice led the NFL in receptions (103 in 2006, career-high 115 in 2008) and receiving yards (1,575 in 2008, 1,569in 2009). His career average of 6.0 receptions per game is a league all-time best and his 80.5 receiving yards per game ranks second in NFL

history. Johnson has 51 career 100-yard receiving games, which ranks fifth in NFL history. In 2014, he started all 15 games he played in and totaled 85 re-ceptions for 936 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson had a career-high 1,598 receiving yards on 112 receptions and four touchdowns in 2012. He ledthe league with a career-high 115 receptions in 2008, while finishing with 1,575 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

DE-KENDALL LANGFORDStarted 90-of-112 games over his seven seasons with the St. Louis Rams (2012-14) and Miami Dolphins (2008-2011). Entering the 2015 season,Langford’s 112 consecutive games played in is the longest active streak among NFL defensive ends and defensive tackles. He has tallied 318tackles (197 solo), 15.5 sacks, 15 passes defensed and four forced fumbles over his NFL career. In 2014, he notched 51 tackles (22 solo) and1.0 sack. Langford’s career year came in 2013 when he recorded single-season career highs in total tackles (69) and sacks (5.0).

S-DWIGHT LOWERYHas appeared in 84 games (56 starts) over his seven seasons with the Atlanta Falcons (2014), Jacksonville Jaguars (2011-13) and New YorkJets (2008-2010). Lowery has registered 300 tackles (215 solo), 4.0 sacks, 50 passses defensed, seven forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveriesand 12 interceptions (returned two for touchdowns). S-MIKE ADAMSIn his first season with the Colts in 2014, Adams was one of only two Colts defensive players to start all 16 games as he finished with a career-high 93 tackles (71 solo), 11 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and five interceptions. His five interceptions tied forthird-most in the NFL and he was named to his first career Pro Bowl. Adams also started all three posteason contests for the Colts and registered20 tackles (11 solo) and one pass defensed. He has played in 162 games (89 starts) over his 11-year career and has 581 tackles (439 solo),5.0 sacks, 66 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries and 18 interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). S-COLT ANDERSONPlayed in 15 games in 2014 and led the Colts with 15 special teams tackles and recovered one fumble. Anderson also contributed two tackles(one solo). In five seasons with Indianapolis (2014) and the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-13), he has appeared in 63 games (six starts) and reg-istered 49 tackles (34 solo), four passes defensed and one interception. Known for his special teams prowess, Anderson has tallied 61 careerspecial teams tackles. He led the Eagles in special teams tackles in 2013 with a career-high 16. Additionally, Anderson was twice voted by histeammates as Philadelphia’s special teams MVP (2011 and 2012) and was the Eagles 2012 Ed Block Courage Award recipient.

CB-DARIUS BUTLERSaw action in 14 games (four starts) in 2014 and finished with 47 tackles (41 solo), eight passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumblerecovery. Butler played in all three postseason contests for the Colts and started at free safety in the team’s AFC Championship Game loss atNew England, finishing with one tackle. He has played in 83 games (29 starts) over his six-year career with Indianapolis (2012-14), Carolina(2011) and New England (2009-2010) and has 219 tackles (188 solo), 51 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and11 interceptions (four returned for touchdowns). ILB-JERRELL FREEMANHas registered three consecutive 100-plus tackle seasons (2012-14) and twice has led the Colts in tackles (2012-13). In 2014, Freeman finishedsecond on the team with 144 tackles (78 solo), while contributing 1.5 sacks, six passes defensed and one forced fumble. He started all threepostseason games for the Colts and led the team with 37 tackles (27 solo) and added 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.Since joining the Colts in 2012, Freeman has started all 44 games he has played in and has 516 tackles (305 solo), 9.0 sacks, 15 passes de-fensed, eight forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and three interceptions (one returned for a touchdown). In 2012, he set a franchise recordwith 203 tackles and ranked fifth in the league. He became only the second Colts defender to top 200 tackles in a single season.

QB-MATT HASSELBECKHas seen action as Andrew Luck’s primary backup each of the last two seasons. In 2014, Hasselbeck played in four games and completed 30-of-44 passes for 301 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He competed in his 200th career game in a Week 16 loss at Dallas ashe completed 15-of-22 passes for 126 yards and one touchdown. Over his 16-year career he has connected on 3,066-of-5,074 passes for34,948 yards, 203 touchdowns and 148 interceptions. The three-time Pro Bowler has 22 career 300-yard passing performances and has executed22 game-winning drives over the course of his career. In 2005, Hasselbeck threw for 3,459 yards, 24 touchdowns and only nine interceptionsas he led the Seattle Seahawks to Super Bowl XL.

RB-DANIEL HERRONPlayed in all 16 games (three starts) for the first time in his career in 2014. Herron finished with 78 carries for 351 yards (4.5 avg.) and onetouchdown and caught 21 passes for 173 yards. He started all three postseason contests and had 45 rushes for 170 yards (3.8 avg.) and twotouchdowns. Herron also registered 20 receptions, which ranks as the fourth-most catches by a Colt in a single postseason in franchise history.His 128 receiving yards were the most by a running back in a single postseason in team history surpassing Lenny Moore (126 in 1959). Herronhas played in 25 games (three starts) over his three-year career and has 389 rushing yards on 87 carries (4.5 avg.) and one touchdown. Healso has 22 career receptions for 230 yards.

LS-MATT OVERTONHas played in all 48 regular season and six postseason games over his three seasons with the Colts. In 2014, he served as the team’s longsnapper for all 16 games and three postseason contests. He snapped for punter Pat McAfee, who set franchise single-season records with a42.8 net punting average and 30 punts pinned inside the 20-yard line. Overton also snapped for kicker Adam Vinatieri, who converted 30-of-31field goals and all 50 extra points for 140 points on the season. Both McAfee and Vinatieri were named to the Associated Press NFL All-Proteam as well as being voted to the Pro Bowl. In 2013, Overton served as the long snapper in all 16 regular season games and both postseasoncontests en route to being named to his first career Pro Bowl.
