The pump to solve your biggest challenges. Thanks to design modifications, our Pampa Pump® is now recommended for particulate production in the presence of gas locking conditions. Before, none of our Pampa configurations were recommended for gaseous conditions due to the additional compression chamber volume of the lower extension. All of that changed with our now modified Pampa Gas Pump®. We’ve added compression chamber-enhancing accessories and eliminated the lower extension, two elements that significantly improve the compression ratio.
Harbison-Fischer
This creates a pump that is designed for severe particulate-pumping problems and moderate gas-locking conditions. The fit of the plunger/barrel should be the same as for normal API-style pumps, considering the need for lubrication and clearance for particulates. The barrel and plunger should be the same length and the extension 2 to 3 feet shorter than the plunger.
In addition to the conventional benefits of the Pampa design, the top of the Pampa plunger moving into the upper chamber keeps particulates in motion and exhausted from the upper chamber. Fluid with entrained particulates is produced through the upper and lower holes. The lower holes also help keep particulates away from the plunger/barrel interface at the top of the barrel.
PROLONGED PRODUCT LIFEAvailable in abrasion and corrosion-resistant materials and coatings, to ensure maximum product durability and life span.
REDUCES STICKINGDesigned specifically to reduce sticking from sand or other particulateswhile increasing the compression ratio for better gas handling capabiliy.
INCREASED RUN TIMEThe Pampa Gas Pump® is a modified Pampa Pump characterized bya long barrel and long plunger but without a lower extension. These modifications help increase the run time of the pump.
The best of both worlds – Gas and sand handling in the same pump

CHALLENGES
Severe solids production is problematic when combined in a gassy well environment, and can significantly reduce both pump efficiency and pump run life. Pumping heavy particulate laden fluids can rapidly degrade plunger and barrel seal surfaces, which reduces pump run life by 70% and can stick the pump. These challenges can ultimately cease operation.
OUR SOLUTION
The Pampa Gas Pump® utilizes the proven long plunger technology to produce severe particulate laden fluids by keeping them out of the plunger barrel seal interface. By removing the lower extension, combined with compression enhancing features, effectively combats moderate gas interference. The movement of the Pampa plunger into the upper chamber keeps particulates in motion and exhausted from the upper pump chamber.
RESULTS
By applying the proven Pampa design to combat heavy solids production, combined with a modified compression ratio for enhanced gas handlingcapability, the Pampa Gas Pump® mitigates sticking plunger and minimizes gas interference. This results in overall longer pump run time.
