Its Role in Development of Seed Cultivation
ABOUT TSÜAB Basis for Establishment and Fundemental Mandates
Private Sector wing of Seed Cultivation/Industry is constituted by Unions and Subunions established pursuant to 5553 Seed Cultivation Law
Seed Industrialists and Producers Subunion (TSÜAB) is an occupational organization established pursuant to 5553 Seed Cultivation as a legal entity with public institution characteristic (5553 Article 16)
All seed industralists and producer companies performing activities in Turkey being a member of TSÜAB is a legal obligation (5553-Art. 17)
TSÜAB currently has 577 members.
TSÜAB performs activities within the framework of the statute approved by the Ministry defining the establishment, working procedures and and principles.
TSÜAB as per law is subject to administrative and financial audit of the Ministry.
TSÜAB, as being actual representative of Turkish Seed Cultivators sustains successfully its function of being a driver of the sector.
TSÜAB, within this formation; performs activities for development of seed sector by protecting rights and interests of its members.
Basic Philosophy of TSÜAB;Within authorities granted by the law, to represent Turkish seed cultivation inndustry, protect rights and interests of its members and develop Turkish Seed Cultivation Sector.
In recent years extremely important legal regulations were made. On this basis, private sector was organized in line with the law and TSÜAB has taken its position it deserved within this establishment.
As of its institutional structure TSÜAB has a very significant position and within this respect it has to fulfill its mandates appropriate for its position.
While TSÜAB fulfills these mandates and implement its activities it acts in line with procedures and principes determined by laws.
TSÜAB has got a Mission, Vision and “Ethical Rules” accepted by its members.
ABOUT TSÜAB Basis for Establishment and Fundemental Mandates
We can summarize TSÜAB’s General Activities and Institutional Relations under the main topics listed as below:
STUDIES WITH PROJECTS TRAININGS PARTICIPATION AT FAIRS PROMOTIONAL MEETINGS WORKING TOGETHER WITH RELATED PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIPS COPERATION WITH INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS SECTORAL FOREIGN TADE VISITS Examples belonging to each of the major activity field above are in TSÜAB archives. TSÜAB with its activities conducted in integrity and since its establishment with the efforts
of its valuable administrators, secretariat and all its members have contributed significantly to Turkish Seed Cultivation and it will continue to do so.
TSÜAB ACIVITIES BASICLY
In Seed Cultivation sector currently there is a need for seed cultivation focused trained personnel. This need will be felt more in future in parallel to development of the sector. Within this respect we are running a programme by TSÜAB which we deem extremely beneficial and have seen already its benefit.
By TÜSİAB at the universities at Faculties of Agriculture every year for 30 students in average traineeship programme is implemeted and these students with theoretical knowledge and practical studies they carry out at TSÜAB member companies are prepared for future for Seed Cultivation sector.
Besides, seminars are organized within a protocol in the field of seed cultivation within “Occupational Implementation Programmes” for the students demanded by the Faculties of Agriculture.
And by TSÜAB Occupational Meetings and Activities also continued in a routine all year long as to include all the members
Within this scope Product Standing Working Groups are established by TSÜAB and working procedures and principles, mandates and responsibilites of these groups were determined.
SOME EXAMPLES OF TSÜAB ACTIVITIES(1)
Product Standing Workig Groups were formed. Cereals Working Group Vegetable Working Group IndustrialPlants Working Group Legumes and Meadow-Pasture, Grass and Forage Plants Working Group Besides with pertinent units of our Ministry “Joint Standing Working Groups” were
planned.
Seed Cultivation Product Standing Working Groups members for preparation of group reports in defined format continue their work periodically all through the year.
GROUP REPORTS prepared as a result of these studies were shared with all our members and the invitees last year on 3-4 December at Seed Cultivation Workshop held in Antalya. Besides these reports collected and published as a BOOK.
SOME EXAMPLES OF TSÜAB ACTIVITIES(2)
As the Seed Industralists and Prodcuers Subunion, in the countries where Seed Export potential is seen high, we organize programmes of “Sectoral Foreign Trade Group Programmes”
In implemetation of these programmes financial support is obtained from the Ministry of Economy and technical support from the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock
Since September 2011 in coordination of TSÜAB “Seed Cultivation Sectoral Foreign Trade Group Visits” were made to total of 11 countries as follows Azarbaijan/Baku, Ukraine/Kiev, Russian Federation/Moscow, Bosnia-Herzegovina/Sarajevo, Kyrgyzstan/Bishkek, Morocco/Casablanca, Kazakhstan/Almaty and Cimkent, Algeria/Algeria, Italy/Bologna, Poland/Poznan and for the second time Ukraine/Odessa
