Dear Veterinary Colleague, Have you ever desired to share your veterinary knowledge with other people in foreign countries and, at the same 9me, share your Chris9an tes9mony as a veterinarian? Have you ever desired to travel to an interna9onal seminar to learn and understand what other veterinarians and researchers are contribu9ng to veterinary medicine? These opportuni9es are available!
On September 30st through October 20th, a group of veterinarians will be traveling to Hungary and Romania. They will start by parAcipaAng in the 13th Congress of the World Equine Veterinary AssociaAon (WEVA) in Budapest, Hungary (Oct 3-‐5). Click here for details: www.weva2013budapest.com
We also will be traveling to three Romanian UniversiAes in Cluj, Iasi, and Timisoara. At each University, we will be giving professional lectures for two to three days. At the end of each university stay, CVM parAcipants provide a pizza party, Bible study, and Bible distribuAon for interested students and faculty. Since 1999, CVM parAcipants have distributed over 6,000 Bibles and provided professional seminars to students and faculty members at these universiAes. CVM short-‐term mission parAcipants have developed a deep relaAonship with these universiAes and each group has been accepted and treated graciously at each of these universiAes.
On Sunday October 6th, we will leave for Cluj, Romania to parAcipate in an Equine Lameness and Farrier Seminar (Oct 7-‐9). Small and Large animal veterinarians are welcome to go and parAcipate in professional veterinary lectures to students and faculty that are not parAcipaAng in the Lameness Seminar.
Trip Details:Hungary and Romania LocaAon: Budapest, Hungary / Cluj, Iasi, & Timisoara, Romania Dates: September 30-‐October 20th, 2013 Partner: CVM ParAcipants along with Veterinary Faculty and Students in Romania. Veterinary work: Lecturing and providing seminars to students, faculty, and veterinarians in Cluj, Iasi, and Timisoara. All disciplines welcome. We will need at least two equine veterinarians to assist US farriers and Romanian veterinarians/farriers for the Equine Lameness Seminar in Cluj.Ministry work: Bible studies and Bible distribuAon in each university. Airfare: Tickets Approx. $1200 / per person. There are some limited airfare travel scholarships available.Costs in Hungary and Romaina: Train Ackets: approx. $300-‐350. Room and Board: UniversiAes in Iasi and Timisoara provide housing and meals. University in Cluj: hotel approx $65 per person. Personal Money: $1,500-‐2,000 Bibles – all Bibles have been purchased previously and are already in Romania for distribuAon ($12,000).Pizza Party -‐-‐ $2,800 (approx cost for all three universiAes) Previously CVM parAcipants have shared the cost of the Bibles and Pizza with their local churches. Special note: for those veterinarians who are not par9cipa9ng in the Lameness and Farrier Seminar-‐-‐they will provide seminars to students and faculty in Cluj. These can be small, large, or equine veterinarians who want to lecture on other disciplines.
§ October 9th PM: Student Pizza Party and Bible DistribuAon in Cluj.§ October 9th late: Leave by train to Iasi, RO.§ October 10th-‐11th: Lectures in Iasi, RO § October 12th: Leave for a tour to Sighet, RO to observe the The Memorial of the Vic9ms of Communism and of the Resistance where many Romanians gave their life for their ChrisAan beliefs.
§ October 13th: Church service and return to Iasi, RO§ October 14th: Finish lecturing and Pizza Party and Bible DistribuAon in Iasi. § October 14th PM: Leave for Timisoara, RO § October 15th: Day of rest§ October 16th-‐18th: Lectures at the University in Timisoara § October 18th: Bible study Pizza Party and Bible DistribuAon in Timisoara.§ October 19th: Leave for Budapest, HU § October 20th: Return to the US
Schedule (opAon 2): For those who do not want to parAcipate in the InternaAonal Equine Symposium, they will depart the US on October 4th and fly into Budapest, Hungary on October 5th. From the 5th through the 20th they will follow the schedule above.
