How steel furniture
is better for dorm rooms
as it is bedbug-proof.
What are bed bugs?
Bed bugs are small insects that can live in the blood of humans or animals. Adult bed bugs tend to be larger especially after they have eaten and they tend to turn a reddish colour. Bedbugs can move very quickly and the females can lay hundreds of eggs.
Bed bugs can hide! But where?
Bed bugs can feed for up ten minutes! They usually are active at night whilst
you are sleeping. Bites are usually painless but later become itchy and red.
Bed bugs can hide under beds, in clothing, sofas or other items. They can fit into tiny spaces and tend to live in
groups.
Signs of Infestation
- Itchy areas on the skin - Blood stains on your sheets or
pillowcases- Dark or rusty spots of bedbug
excrement on sheets and mattresses, bed clothes, and walls
- Bedbug fecal spots, egg shells, or shed skins in areas where bedbugs hide- An offensive, musty odor from the
bugs' scent glands
Most the times cracks in bed frames should be examined,
especially if the frame is wood! Bed bugs tend to have an affinity for wood and fabrics more than
metal or plastic! In this case metal is the better option when it comes
to choosing furniture!
Wood Metal
Bed bugs find smooth surfaces
hard to latch on to. Something as simple as having metal bed bunk
frames prevents bed bugs! Wooden bunk frames are easy for
them to live and breed in. For Dorm rooms it is essential you choose a metal bed frame to
save yourself from nasty bites and to get the best sleep you
can!
