START: Terrington Village Hall. Leave the village along Mowthorpe Lane.
2 Just before the house at Birkdale Farm turn R, through a wooden gate, onto bridleway. Where the track forks bear L towards the lakes. 3 Close to the first lake, cross the stile
on your L and follow the beck. Cross another stile, keep to the footpath through the trees and over a small bridge.
4 Emerge from the trees and climb the slope with the wood to your R and the fence to your L. Near the corner of the field veer slightly L and pass through a gap in the hedge.
5 Keeping the fence on your R, pass a house and cross some rough pasture. Heading north, keep the stream to your R and climb steadily uphill.
6 On reaching Sleigh Lane turn R to the tiny unspoilt village of Ganthorpe.
7 Cross the road and enter the village. After about 150m on road turn L onto a bridleway. Shortly you enter a wooded area and pass two old fish ponds.
8 Near the end of the wood the path crosses a dyke and bears half L to pass through a bridlegate into a field. With the post and wire fence to your R, walk along the field side and join a track.
10 The path widens into the grassy Broats Lane and this joins the Coneysthorpe road which takes you back to Terrington.
