Dear Brothers and Sisters, Members andFriends of the Hill United Presbyterian Church:
As we head into fall, our assorted fall ministriesand programs begin again. They will be listed inthis newsletter. If you ever need any moreinformation on any of these, please call or e-mailthe Church office.
When St. Paul was writing to the CorinthianChurch one time, he said this: Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, bestrong. Let all that you do be done in love.
The way in which you and I can be and dowhat Paul was talking about is to attend worshipregularly, along with participating in some of theother ministries which God leads us to be partof.
I encourage you to pray and think about that aswe enter this autumn time!
The Grace of the Lord Jesus bewith you all!

FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO
A forum of the Butler County InterfaithFellowship will present this movie atCovenant Presbyterian Church, 230 EastJefferson St., Sunday, Sept. 25th at 6:30pmin the Fellowship Hall. This movie is a
stirring and challenging documentaryshowing the long ignored persecutions, struggles, and faith of gay people. The Interfaith Fellowship is a growing group
of inter-denominational pastors and laypersons who work to reverse the ignoranceand hurts of the past and to open churchand personal doors to gay people who mayalready be our friends, family, neighbors, and acquaintances....or maybe the stranger.
The meeting on the 25th will be the first ofthree such presentations, followed byothers on October 23rd and November 27th,
all at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Thelatter two meetings will also have moviesand discussions. All who read this arewelcome to come. If you have any questions,

PEACEMAKING OFFERING
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2011
World Communion Sunday
The Presbyterian Peacemaking Offeringsupports the efforts of Presbyterians to worfor justice and peace through theicongregations, presbyteries, synods, and GeneraAssembly. The day recommended focongregations to receive the Offering is WorldCommunion Sunday, when Christians around theworld gather to eat the bread and drink the cupoffered by Christ, the Prince of Peace. The dais a time when we are mindful of our spirituaunity with Christ and each other, and we are lednaturally to do what we can to make that unityChrist and others manifest. Receiving thePeacemaking Offering on this day and dedicatingourselves to the work of justice and peace areways to live into the unity we have in Christ.
The Offering supports a variety of peacemakingefforts: 25 percent is retained bycongregations, 25 percent is used by synods andpresbyteries, and 50 percent is allocated toGeneral Assembly ministries.
At Hill Church, we will keep 25 percent of thePeacemaking Offering locally. Through theAmerican Legion Riders, we will give that moneytoward the cause of helping homeless veterans
in Butler County. Our goal is to raise $625.00or more.
Thank you for your generosity and your prayers.
