General Information
Hersheyparkconstantly strives to enhance the experience
of guests with disabilities visiting the Park. In consultation
with another major amusement park that had previously
implemented a similar program, a system was developed
so that persons with disabilities may gain access to rides
using the ride exit area or other areas designated for that
purpose. Additionally, an Attraction Boarding Pass program
was developed for use by guests with disabilities in an effort
to be fair and equitable to all guests.
Hersheyparkhas teamed up with Parent to Parent ofPennsylvania, a statewide organization that supports families
of individuals with disabilities to review our program. The
resulting program strives to make the Park experience more
positive for all of our guests, especially our guests with
disabilities. Hersheyparkhas over 60 rides, only 12 of which
require the use of the Attraction Boarding Pass. All other
rides can be boarded utilizing the exit areas or by asking
the ride operator the easiest way to board a particular rideor attraction. We sincerely hope that your experience at
Hersheyparkis a highlight of your summer.
Welcome to Hersheypark, in Hershey, The Sweetest Place
On Earth. Here at Hersheypark, we are committed to
providing each of our guests a safe and memorable visit.
Our goal is to accommodate your needs. Our procedures
have been developed with your safety and comfort in mind.
We strive to provide an entertaining experience with fair and
equal treatment for all of our guests.
Although the natural terrain adds to the beauty of the
Hersheyparklandscape, it also creates some challenges.
Please refer to the map on pages 26 & 27 for assistance inidentifying steep grades and stairs within the Park.
If you require assistance during your Hersheypark
experience, please bring your own Personal Care Attendant.
Our rides do require guests to transfer from their wheelchairs
to a ride system. The Hersheyparkstaff is happy to make
your visit as pleasant and memorable as possible. Please
note our staff is not permitted to assist guests withpersonal care, including assistance in transferring on
and off rides.
Each guest has different needs. Hersheyparkcannot always
determine the suitability of a particular ride. We strongly
recommend that you carefully consider your health and
comfort, as well as the nature of each ride, prior to making a
decision to ride.
Our procedures have been determined based on a guests
ability to use all safety restraints and devices as designed,
while maintaining proper riding posture throughout the
course of the ride. Please ask a ride attendant if you have
any questions concerning a particular ride.
Please read through this booklet to learn more about theservices we provide, as well as particular ride information.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate
to stop by any Guest Services location, or ask any ride
employee for assistance.

Accessibility Procedures
Most Hersheyparkrides may be enjoyed by guests with
disabilities provided the guest meets the restrictions posted
at each ride (including height and/or weight). All rides except
the Dry Gulch Railroad require a guest using a wheelchair to
transfer from the wheelchair onto the ride. A reminder that
our staff is not permitted to assist guests with personal care
including assistance in transferring on and off rides.
Pennsylvania Act No. 1994-58 requires that riders must
obey all warnings and directions regarding rides and mustbehave in a manner that will not cause or contribute to
injury of themselves or others. Failure to comply is cause
for dismissal from the Park. Hersheyparkis committed to
providing a safe environment for all of our guests. Health
recommendations are located at the entrance of each
ride. Guests must have sufficient awareness to understand
the consequences of actions that may lead to injury of
themselves or others. Please note all rules carefully, andfollow directions given by our staff. If you are unsure about
your ability to safely experience a ride, we urge you to
consult with our Ride Operations Staff. We cannot permit
guests to participate on a ride if by doing so they would incur
a direct threat to the health or safety of themselves or others.
Due to safety regulations strictly enforced in accordance
with the Pennsylvania State Amusement Ride InspectionAct, Hersheyparkreserves the right to refuse any guest
admission to a ride. If you have any questions, please do not
hesitate to stop by any Guest Services location.
Entering Ride Attractions
Hersheyparkstrives to provide mainstream access whenever
possible. Non-ambulatory guests (guests using a
wheelchair or who are unable to stand in a queue line)will be allowed exit clearance. A Rides Supervisor will
issue guests requiring exit clearance a handstamp or
wristband.
A description of each major ride is listed on the following
pages arranged alphabetically. Each description contains the
height and/or weight restrictions, health recommendations,
directions to the accessible entrance, and the number of
companions permitted to accompany a non-ambulatory
guest through the accessible entrance. Only the number
of guests listed for each ride listed may enter through
the accessible entrance with the guest requiring exit
clearance. If there are more people in your group than
the number of people permitted to accompany the guest
requiring exit clearance, we ask that all but one member
enter the ride in the standard manner through the line. Once
your group is ready to board, the guest entering through
the accessible entrance, and their companion, should
advise the ride operator that others will be joining you.Special accessible entrances are intended to accommodate
wheelchairs and those guests with a mobility impairment
and not to bypass others waiting in line.
On non-boarding pass rides the guest with a disability and
their companion(s) are permitted to ride once. They may be
asked to wait while others already in line for a specific seat
are loaded. Returning for a re-ride may require a periodof waiting based on the current length of the line. If your
disability prevents you from hearing the ride loading
and unloading instructions, please notify the ride
operator.
Mechanical / Power Failure / Adverse Weather
Though it is rare, a mechanical problem, power failure, or
sudden adverse weather condition may lead to a stoppage of
the rides. In that event, riders may be required to maneuver
across catwalks or travel down steeply inclined ramps or
steps. Please consider these factors when deciding to ride.
Please Note:
The following rides may not accommodate guests of a larger
size (height and/or weight) due to the configuration of the
safety restraint system.
