Hera and Hercules
• Zeus had an affair with a mortal women named Alcmene
• They had a child, Hercules (half god & half human)
• Hera was jealous and wanted revenge sent two serpents to Hercules’ crib to strangle him
• Hercules was half god so he strangled the serpents instead
• Hercules grew up and got married and had three sons, Hera sent a madness, which made him kill his own family.

Hera and the Peacock
• Zeus fell in love with Io, a priestess of Hera
• Hera turned her into a cow and gave her to Argos, monster with 100 eyes, to guard her.
• Zeus tried to help Io and called for Hermes, his messenger, to kill Argos
• Hermes hypnotized the monster, who feel in a deep sleep and was destroyed by Hermes
• Hera knew all about this plan and had removed the eyes of Argos the day before, Hera transferred all of his eyes into the tail of a peacock in his honor.
