Our medical second opinion provider, WorldCare Inc. specializes inmedical advisory assistance, providing plan members andtheir eligible dependants with the ability to have theirdiagnoses and treatment plans evaluated confidentiallyand securely by world class physician specialists – all without having to leave their home, and all within days.
At the plan member’s request, the medical second opinion service provided by WorldCare Inc. includes an independent review, diagnosis and treatment recommendations from leading licensed medical physicians. These physicians are recognized as top medical diagnosis specialists and are associated with some of the foremost teaching and research hospitals inNorth America, known collectively as the WorldCareConsortium. The WorldCare Consortium is a provider network consisting of some of the top academic medicalinstitutions in North America. These institutions deliverexpert medical consultations as part of the WorldCare Inc.medical second opinion service, and are committed to thehighest quality patient care and medical services.
WorldCare Inc. will coordinate working with physicians toobtain the paperwork and information needed for theappropriate specialists to evaluate and communicate theirfindings. Furthermore, Manulife Financial shall not be liable for any expenseincurred by the plan member or their eligible dependent which is notspecifically described and covered under this Health Service Navigatorbenefit or the Group Benefits Policy, including but not limited to the costof treatment, travel costs, fees, medical expenses, appointment cancellationcharges and other expenses.
