Returning to education proved to be life changing forformer sport student, Joseph Pryle.
After leaving school, Joseph completed a BTEC in Sports
Studies at Wigan & Leigh College before travelling abroad
to gain an appreciation of other cultures.
On returning to the UK, the keen sportsman returned to
Wigan & Leigh College to study a Foundation Degree in
Sports Coaching at Sixth Form Centre - Leigh.
Joseph completed his third year top-up degree in Sports
Coaching at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan)
where he achieved a First Class Honours Degree.
This impressive achievement earned Joseph a scholarship
for postgraduate study, where he again chose Wigan &
Leigh College to complete his teaching qualification.
Joseph has gone on to complete a Masters Degree at
UCLan and is currently undertaking a PhD.
Today we celebrate the greatachievement of our Higher
Education students.
I would like to express my respect for each graduand
here today. Your hard work and dedication has been
rewarded in the successful achievement of a higher
education qualification. Today is a celebration of your
success but also a time to reflect and thank those
who have supported you through this time.
On behalf of all the tutors and staff at Wigan & Leigh
College we hope you and your guests have a
memorable day and we wish you all every success
for the future.
