At Havas People, we want to be the world’s best at connecting brands with talent through brilliant communication. It’s a bold statement and an even bigger challenge, but as this compendium of creative thinking, digital firsts, intelligence-led media strategy and insightful employer brand research shows, we’re well on our way.
Of course, work like this never happens just like that. Take our RADs wins for the National Offender Management Service for instance. Delivering a campaign that is both effective and creative (and wins Work of the Year) is testament to our fully-integrated approach; the values we live by; the thinkers, challengers, creators and doers right across our agency; and the great relationships we forge with our clients.
From London to New York to Hong Kong, our global growth continues to play a major part in us achieving our vision too. So it’s great to see that amongst this snapshot of what we do, you’ll also find work from our counterparts in both Poland and Australia.
It’s an enjoyable and illuminating showcase. I hope you enjoy it.
Rupert Grose, CEO
WELCOME
We know that if you’re prepared to work hard, you can put your name to something great. If we say that we’re going to do something, you can be sure that we’ll do it.
We respect each other, we enjoy sharing ideas, and we know we can rely on one another. Which means we can achieve more as a team.
What if ?We ask
We’re curious about the world around us, and know that if we never stop questioning,
we will never stop discovering more.

Imagine what it’s like to be in a cell with an angry prisoner. How would you react?
Is it in you to see the
person not the
prisoner?
Is it in you to be a prison officer?
The National Offender Management Service needed 1,700 new prison officers across 12 months. The problem was:
it’s a tough, misunderstood role, which takes a special mix of characteristics. On top of that, the recruitment process
is rigorous with high candidate drop-out rates.
We created an integrated campaign specifically designed to challenge misconceptions – and focus on the traits needed.
To do it, we used every part of the business: from attraction to resourcing. And we smashed our targets – with over
83,000 applications and 1,900 offers accepted.

TfL’s launch of contactless ticketing technology was a true global first. And the world was watching.
We launched their first ever recruitment campaign targeting specific, hard-to-fill tech roles to help develop the next phase of customer experience improvements. For the first time, we focused on specialist tech sites (rather than traditional job boards). After all, this is where techies hang out. We used a content-led approach on social media (also a first for TfL), putting beautifully-shot videos and photography at its heart. It led to some impressive results: reaching 1.3m people on social media alone.

We all know that paramedics are critical. What you may not know is that there’s a national shortage. In such a

The only question is: have we got your attention? If so, head over to

When your mission is to turn from dinosaur telco into a global technology company, you need an employer brand that unites employee hearts with visionary corporate minds.
Enter ‘Connect to a future created by you’ - the brand promise we devised for Telstra, Australia’s largest telecoms and media company.
Over the last 18 months, we’ve brought this vividly to life through a combination of authentic storytelling and light-inspired photography. Carefully selected ambassadors from more than 20 job families sharing memorable experiences across the entire media landscape, building emotional connection and aligning values with existing and future employees.
With an Australian HR award now on the shelf and major Telstra investments in cloud computing, apps and e-health to maintain credibility, the power of employer branding to transform a workforce has never been so compelling.

How to create a positive and attractive employer brand image?
FEAR LESSIn Australia, major food retailer Woolworths (no relation to the UK PIck n’ Mix variety) is seen as the place for check-out operators and shelf-stackers, not a career destination for high-powered business professionals.
So how do you convince 140 wannabe entrepreneurs that this graduate program should be their first choice? The answer – give them terrifying responsibility. Our job was then simple: Tell it like it is.
With a catchcry of ‘Dare To Lead’ and look-you-in-the-eye portraiture, we promoted real graduate responsibilities such as coordinating the supply chain for millions of products, managing a $60 billion balance sheet or rolling out Google Apps to 200,000 people. Not your everyday ‘To Do’ list.
The result: Over 5,000 applications and a generation of grads now seen as the emerging rock stars of the business.
