FTTH-OSP DESIGN PRINCIPLES (1)
1. FTTH OSP Design Work (Feeder & Distribusion) shall be carried out in accordance with the frame of this document.
2. LINK BUDGET
1) Descriptions in the Contract:
The Design shall ensure the FTTH OSP System Power Budget of the GPON OLT to ONU (in the configuration of 1:4 Splitter at ODC and 1:8 Splitter at ODP) shall be 28dB (including the margin of 3dB).
2) Applicable Power Budget in the Project:
� Contract Requirement: 28dB - 3dB (Margin) = 25dB (ITU-T G.652D @ Wave Length 1310nm=0.35dB/km)
� Requirement by KBB: 25dB - 2dB = 23dB (including 2dB as an Additional Margin due to an incidental increment of the loss in OSP during an operation)
� Link Budget to be applied for the Project: 25dB @ 1310nm
� We may try however, to keep 23dB @ 1310nm as far as practicable.

1.5 CORE ASSIGNMENT DIAGRAM
1. CORE ASSIGNMENT DIAGRAM shall be prepared prior to draw the SKEMA KABEL as a tool so as to
arrange the core assignment of the feeder cable easily. (Not for submission purpose)
2. CORE ASSIGNMENT DIAGRAM shall be prepared per each FEEDER CABLE.
3. The higher number of core (e.g. 288 in 288-core cable) shall be assigned from the nearest ODC, and the
youngest number shall be assigned for the furthest ODC or CAD (Spare core).

FEEDER CABLE ROUTE PLAN:
=> Draft for Skema Feeder
1. SKEMA DUCT EXISTING shall be referred as the
basic information for the Feeder Cable Route Plan.
2. Plot all ODCs TO BE FED BY THE CABLE
together with its capacity along the existing duct
route.
3. Where the existing duct is not available, new duct
construction or DD-BM-HDPE shall be planned.
4. Plot all prospected/ potential locations including
Al-Pro, MSAN, GDI etc. along the expected
feeder cable route.

1.6.3 HDPE PIPE/HANDHOLE for FEEDER CABLE
In case when the existing duct is not available and new duct (HDPE) will be installed, the following shall be taken into consideration:
1) Feeder Cable with the capacity 288-core:
► HDPE BIG/SUBDUCT BIG shall be used.
► Hand-hole Type HH-1 (L=1700 x W=1250 x D=1300) shall be used for all locations.
2) Feeder Cable with the capacity 144-core
► HDPE 33/40/SUBDUCT shall be used.
► Hand-hole Type HH-1 (L=1700 x W=1250 x D=1300) shall be used for all locations.
3) Feeder Cable with the capacity 96-core or less
► HDPE 33/40/SUBDUCT shall be used.
► Hand-hole Type HH-2 (L=1200 x W=600 x D=1300) shall be used for all locations
1.6.4 HANDHOLE for ODC
At ODC location, HANDHOLE shall be installed:
1) Type HH-1 (L=1700 x W=1250 x D=1300):
► Where the Jointing Closure from the Feeder Cable with 288/144-core.is installed including the location
where slack is located for future jointing.
2) Type HH-2 (L=1200 x W=600 x D=1300):
► Where Handhole shall be located on the carriage way.
3) Type HH-80 (L=800 x W=800 x D=800):
► Where Handhole will be located on the Green Area (Taman) in the housing area (Perumahan) and where
no jointing closure will be located.

Branching ODP:

Note:
In case when pipes shall be buried in the building wall due to the
requirement by the developer, the following points shall be taken into
account for the installation.
1. HH-PIT-60 shall be installed in front of ODP location.
2. Flexible Pipe with steel (OD 25mm) shall be used at the bending part of
conduit.
3. Bending Radius of Flexible Pipe shall be more than 300mm.
4. PVC/High-Impact Pipe (OD 25mm) shall be used at the straight part of
conduit.
5. PVC Simple Socket for OD 25mm Pipe shall be used at all jointing part.
6. Pipe space of wall shall be filled with concrete after installation of ODP.
(ODP termination work shall be done prior to the pipe fixing and concrete
work.)
7. The wall shall be restored to the original condition and painted with the
same color with the original wall.
MOM/BA shall be made (to be signed by the PIC of the developer) for the
confirmation of the requirement.
