GSM BASED DIGITAL NOTICE BOARD
INTRODUCTION
1.1 Motivation
From the past many years we are seeing the notices of the college ,
companies ,offices is usually displayed on the normal board having number of
notices written on the same board .So we were thinking that if all these notices
are displayed at the same place one by one except occupying the whole board
area.
So we come to the conclusion to design a Notice board such that it can
fulfill the requirements such as less manual operation, same notice can be
displayed at the various places at the same time, the notice (board display
should be visible from maximum area or distance, compact and compatible,
easy handling.
1.2 What is Digital Notic Boa!" S#st$%
!t is a system having digital notice board. "he notice can be displayed on
the digital display in the rolling manner. "he notice can be typed or edited on the
#$. %nd then it will send the notice to every display connected to the system.
%lso we can receive the notice on &obile phone through the 'S& (wireless
communication "echnology and display it on the digital display boards using the
#$ having the connectivitys like )yper terminal*%" commands*+ software.
!n this way we can save the work as required for a regular notice board.

2.2 Bloc- Diag!a$ Dsc!ition,
!n our pro-ect we are going to demonstrate the igital Notice oard
system using rolling display .%lso we are going the S&S*'S& technique
"he blocks shown in the diagram are described as below/
2.2.1 D"icat" $o/il,0!n our day today life we know most of the peoples used the mobile phones
."he peoples used the phones to achieve or to get the different facilities ."he
mobile phone can provide the different facilities such as
S&S,'#0S,&&S,+1!$2$%33S,%"% $%33S, '#0S, 2ntertainment flexibility
in work.
%s shown in the block diagram we are sending the notice board through
S&S. Since we are using S&S to transmit the Notice, distance not an issue
because the S&S can be sent anywhere in the range.
Some of these facilities are useful in our pro-ect so we are using the S&S
that is 'S& techniques to transfer data from distant places such as from one
area to the another area of the same college.
!n our pro-ect we are using S&S technique to instant or quick transfer of
data or notice to the required destination that is college or department.
"his above given use or function is provided by the dedicated mobile use
in our digital notice board system.
2.2.2 'C,4e are using the + software in our #$ for the user interface with
the system. 4ith the help of this + software any user can easily make the use
of the system.

"his + software provides the notice typing and editing facility. %lso we
can copy the same content as received through mobile in the editing window and
call it as a notice.
)ence the #$*+ software provides the typing, editing and formatting
options to the user.
2.2. RS 22,0S 565 is a serial communication cable used in the system. )ere, the 0S
565 provides the serial communication between the 7igbee module and the #$.
So it is a media used to communicate between 7igbee and the #$.
!n our pro-ect the 0S565 serves the function to transfer the edited notice
(or data from #$ (+ software to the 7igbee 0F module, for the furtheroperation of the system.
2.2. Mic!ocont!oll! ARM 3,!n our pro-ect we are feeding the program to the microcontroller to collect
the data or notice transferred from #$ through 0S 565 and 8bee modules.
%fter collecting or receiving the data it will save the received data into its
on9chip memory.
%nd then as given in the program the controller will send or display the
notice on the alphanumeric display in the required fashion i.e. rolling fashion.
2.2.3 Disla#,!n our pro-ect we are using the alphanumeric display. %s the name
:%lphanumeric display; suggests it is a type of display .ut the difference
between a normal display and the alphanumeric display is that it can display
%lphabets as well as Numbers on it. So we dont need the extra programming
required to display the alphabets like in normal (32 isplay.
%lso it is brighter than the normal 32 display.
Alhan4$!ic Disla#,5! we are using 32 based %lphanumeric display of < inch si=e."he reason for selecting bthe display is that the visibility and clarity ispretty good from a long distance.
