Ways of Saying Hello
Ways of saying Good ByeThere are many things that you can say in English when you are leaving
somebody. Here are ten of the most common phrases.
Introducing People
There are also many ways to introduce to other people. In this case it is
also important to pay attention to registers.
Ideas on teachingClassroom Procedures:1. Begin the lesson by playing a song related, where students can
listen to some of the expressions presented .

2. Write students’ names and their on opposite sides of index cards.
3. Teacher models introductions by saying “Hello, my name is .”
4. Each student introduces himself/herself. “Hello, my name is .” 5. Teach steps 2 and 3 using informationion side of the index card. “I am from .”
6. Teacher models farewells. Ex. good bye, bye-bye, see you Later, Have a nice day, Have a good weekend, etc.
7. Pair students and have them introduce each other.
“This is my classmate/friend, .”
“He/she is from .”
“Nice to meet you ________________.”
“Nice to meet you, too.”
8. Students practice dialogs in pairs, substituting a variety of greetings and farewells (good morning, good night, etc.).
9. Have students present their dialogues to the class
