Christian Formation for All Ages
Celebrating our Christian Formation Volunteers
In our Year of Gratitude, we have chosen to honor the many volunteers who work with Christian Formation whether it be with children, youth, or
adults. On May 5 these leaders will gather for breakfast in the Commons Room to reflect on their year of teaching, planning, and collaborating. During the 11:00 worship service that day we will recognize and pray for these individuals. Finally, during social hour that day, we invite you to show your gratitude and appreciation to those who are able to be with us. We will also add a collect to our Prayers for the People each Sunday in May that reflects our church's value of education. Collect for Education: Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom: Enlighten by your Holy Spirit those who teach and those who learn, that, rejoicing in the knowledge of your truth, they may worship you and serve you from generation to generation; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen. Episcopalian 101 Each Sunday in May, Father Alton will be leading a group in the Undercroft at 10:00. This group will focus
on what it means to be an Episcopalian, what the customs are of the Episcopal church, and why Episcopalians do what we do. Any adult interested in being confirmed or received into the Episcopal church is welcome to attend as well as those who are already members of the Episcopal church but would like to know more or would like to add their own experiences to the conversation. Bishop Anne will visit our church in June this year and will be ready to receive or confirm those adults who have been involved in this group. Please come and support those who are ready to officially join the Episcopal church! Childcare will be available in the nursery as there is no Children's Sunday School in May.
Children's Sunday School We have had an amazing year in Children's Sunday School this year completing the Sparks Rotation units of Creation, Abraham and Sarah, Jesus and John the Baptist, and Lydia. The children have really enjoyed the stories and the activities as they're moved through Science, Art, Creative Drama, Music, Cooking, Games, and more. We will resume Sunday School in the September.
Growing Episcopalians Growing Episcopalians will meet for the final time this school year on Wednesday, May 1 at 5:30 in the Undercroft. This will be the last GE meeting for our 5th graders, Hadley Briggs, Ward Inabinett, and Rachel Ingram, as they will join Virginia McDonald and move up into Rite 13 this Fall.
