A Celebration of Local Food

Gourmet Affair is not just about indulging your palate with some of the finest food you’ll find anywhere, it is also about getting to know where that food comes from, who distributes it, and who prepares it. In short, it is about bringing together in one place the people who produce, prepare, and enjoy great food to celebrate local people and the fruits of their labours.

The value in promoting such agricultural partnerships was one of the reasons the Vegreville Agricultural Society was enthusiastic about helping to ensure that a dining event remained in Vegreville as part of the Vegreville Country Fair.

~ ENJOY ~

How to enjoy this gourmet event:

NEW THIS YEAR: To make it easier for everyone to

enjoy their dining experience, THERE ARE NO COUPONS. All you have to do is take your plate and the chefs will serve their menu item on your plate.

IMPORTANT DINING ETIQUETTE There is one table setting per ticket holder. Please re-use your cutlery and glass. Please do not take a table setting that is not your own. You are expected to travel from Station to Station to fill your plate. All items will be served individually and placed on your plates. To ensure that there is ample for all, we ask all diners to resist temptation and sample only one of each menu item. If you wish to enjoy these flavours again, you can pick up a new plate, but first please inquire at each table for availability.

Please drink responsibly.

No food or drink is allowed in the lobby or to be taken outside the hall.

Thank you for your consideration.

Alberta Canola Producers Commission

Canola seed is a major Canadian cash crop, as it is Canada’s third largest grain export besides wheat

and barley, contributing billions to this nation’s Gross Domestic Product. Each year, an average of 11 million acres of canola are grown within the Prairie provinces - Alberta, Saskatchewan, and

Manitoba - BC’s Peace Region and southern Ontario. There are 45,000 farmers who grow

canola in Canada. Buying canola oil means supporting local farmers and Canada’s agricultural

industry. Buying locally is a sustainable practice that results in a more stable economy.
