(Taken from: http://support.google.com/docs/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=49008)
Create Google documents, spreadsheets, other file types, and collections.
Upload (from your computer, if you'd like), manage, and store files and folders.
Share Google Docs, files, and collections with other people.
Search for items by name, type, and visibility setting.
Store your documents online.
View it in other compatible software, like Microsoft Office.
Revert to an earlier version of your document. Every version is archived with name and time stamp.
Chat with other online collaborators in real time.
Create and publish surveys, and automatically receive responses on a spreadsheet.
Change privacy to desired settings.
Google Storage:
Gmail provides 7+ GB (and counting) for Gmail messages.
Docs provides 1 GB for your uploaded files (documents created in Google Docs and con-verted files don't count towards your storage, but do have some size limitations).
Google+ provides unlimited storage for photos uploaded in Google+, which are auto-
matically resized to 2048 pixels. Videos up to 15 minutes in length are also free. (Taken
