2. What Is It? Godwin's law is also known as Godwin's Rule of
Nazi Analogies or Godwin's Law of Nazi Analogies. Is a belief by
Mike Godwin in 1990. It states: As an online discussion grows
longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler
approaches. In other words he claims that no matter what kind of
internet discussion, no matter what the context it would always
have a reference to Nazis, if it were given enough time.
3. When Is It Used? As mentioned earlier, Godwin's law is
usually used in online forums, for example chat-rooms or blog
comment threads. Sometimes the law is invoked to mark the end of a
discussion and the writer who made the analogy is considered to
have lost the argument.
4. Examples: After having looked at the comments for two
videos, one of them being Ellie Goulding- Burn and the other Katy
Perry- Roar both of which are a similar genre to our song I
concluded that a lot of the comments focus on either complementing
the singer on their good looks/good singing or saying that their
music isnt very good.
