We welcome aspiring family physicians into a residency marked by excellence at all levels – achieving new heights of teaching, scholarly work,

mentorship, and interprofessionalism as we care for vulnerable populations in under-resourced areas of Arizona.

Our program provides an opportunity for physicians to master the broad skill set needed for practice in multiple settings, especially underserved and rural areas.

• 8 residents/year. ACGME accredited

• Based at Banner University Medical Center

South in Tucson, AZ

• University based program

• 150 bed community based hospital

• Family Medicine run inpatient service

• Diverse demographic:

• Mexican citizens and Native Americans

• Refugees from around the world

• USA/Mexico border health• Indian health services• Global health opportunities• Alaskan/Canadian health opportunities• Rural Arizona: Nogales, Sa�ord, Polacca, Fort De�ance, Whiteriver, Tuba City, Payson, Casa Grande• Family Medicine - 2 rotations• Obstetrics - 1 rotation• Emergency Medicine - 1 rotation

• Global health track

• University based global health curriculum

• Journal clubs and conferences

• 8-week international elective

• Integrative medicine – online curriculum

• Spanish �uency & healthcare disparity track:

• 2-year multidisciplinary track
