A) Existing Pipeline Network:
The present length of existing gas transmission pipelines in India is around 10,800 km (excluding city gas distribution networks) with a design capacity of around 270 MMSCMD (million standard cubic meters per day). The details are as below:

Rajasthan: Alwar.
R-LNG from Dahel and Hazira and gas from KG basin
Industries and power plants, including inter alia Industrial areas of Manesar, Gurgaon, Bhiwadi and Neemrana and PPCL's Bamnauli power plant.
Jagdishpur-Haldia Pipeline The approximate length = 876 km
West Bengal: Puruliya, Bankura and Medinipur.
Jharkhand: Hazaribagh and Bokaro. Bihar: Bhabhua, Rohtas,
Aurangabad, Gaya.
Gas from Mahanadi basin and KG basin
Industries and power plants, including inter alia UP Rajya Vidyut Nigam Ltd, Durgapur Chemicals Ltd., West Bengal Power Dev. Corp, SAIL, HFC, FCI, etc. Closed fertilizers units, namely, Gorakhpur, Barauni,
U.P: Rae Bareli, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Varanasi and Chandauli.
Durgapur, Sindri and Haldia, are expected to be revived.
Dabhol-Bangalore Pipeline The approximate length = 730 km
Maharashtra: Ratnagiri and Kolhapur. Karnataka: Belgaum, Dharwad, Haveri,
Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumkur and Bangalore.

Industries and power plants, including inter alia Zuari fertilizers, Tata Power, Hindalco, KEI energy, etc.
Kochi-Kanjirkkod-Bangalore/Mangalore
The approximate length = 822 km
Kerala: Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Mallapuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod.
Tamil Nadu: Coimbatore, Erode, Salem and Dharmapuri.
Karnataka: Dakshin Kannada, Chamarajnagar, Mandya, Bangalore.
R-LNG from Kochi and gas from KG basin
Industries and power plants, including inter alia Kannur Power Project Limited, REL- Udyogmandal, NTPC-Kayakullam, FACT-Travancore, etc.

Chennai-Bangalore- Mangalore Pipeline
