OVER-ALL GOAL OF THE DISCIPLINE
Elementary Education aims to teach the basic learning skills, inculcate knowledge, habits and values which are fundamental elements
of capabilities for more enlightened and properly guided citizens. The children are expected to learn the basic literacy, numeracy and
citizenship skills with varying levels of difficulty on each level, and the integration of moral values, thus at the same time, internalizing in
them practical way of living a desirable attitude of a Christian Filipino.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE
Computer Essentials emphasizes both hardware and software concepts. It begins to deepen the appreciation o the students in the
existence of computer through giving its origin and notable success in different fields, its elements, uses, types, its windows and even the
different hardware components in relation to the process undertaken to perform specific tasks. It introduces one of the most used and
common application in Windows, MS Word. It focuses on the basic concepts of MS Word 2013, its components and the accurate manipulation
of text and graphics in the document. Also, it commences ideas about MS Excel as preparatory of using this program in specific field of work.
It also provides decisive knowledge about internet and e-mail.
The hands-on modules enable the pupils to:
A. Interpret Input, Process, Output System associated with computer ports and hardware.
B. Give the significance of computer in different field of works.
C. Instill to them the correct and proper use of computers.
D. Identify the different Computer Software.
E. Recall and discuss the origin of computers and their role to the development in technology.
F. Practice the proper keyboarding and use of the mouse.
G. Relate interpret concepts in their daily use of internet.
H. Discuss how to connect to the internet and how it works.
I. Employ the use of e-mail in communicating.
J. Familiarize the students with the MS Word 2013 for Windows, its toolbars and uses.
K. Work with the use of MS Word in creating information with text and graphics.
L. Recognize MS Excel 2013 environment and toolbars.
M. Produce simple project using MS Excel 2013.
