FAMILY NEWS
God is faithful. His love endures forever. We have several who are dealing with sickness and health problems. Let’s continue to pray for all on our prayer list. We also want to be in prayer for those who need to obey the Gospel. Our annual Area-wide Leadership Banquet is coming up on February 28th beginning at 6 pm. The Lakeview congregation will host a dinner for all the area Elders, Deacons, Ministers, and their wives. Please RSVP by signing up on the sheet in the foyer or calling the church office and letting the secretary know by this Sunday, the 16th. Also remember our Recovery Through Christ ministry that meets every Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 8 pm in the Library. If you know of anyone struggling with a life controlling issue, encourage them to attend. There are handouts with more information by the doors. I also want to encourage all of you to plan to go and be a part of the Affirming the Faith seminar hosted by the North MacArthur Church of Christ in Oklahoma City. If you would like more information pick up a handout on the table in the foyer or go online to their website at; www.affirmingthefaithok.com
Fueling Forgiveness
This Sunday morning we will consider several comparisons between Jesus and Joseph. For example Jesus and Joseph were both loved by their father, hated by some of those closest to them, betrayed for money, thought to be dead but found alive, and they both forgave those who had wronged them. How was Joseph able to forgive his brothers?
“But Joseph said to them, "Don't be afraid. Am I in the place of God? You intended to harm me, but God
intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” Gen 50:19-21
Joseph was able to forgive his brothers because he knew God’s purpose in his life and how God used the bad for good. Let’s join together this Sunday and consider the lives of Joseph and Jesus.
See you soon. Your brother in Christ, Jimmy Hyde

VISION OF WORSHIP
“In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting
on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe
filling the temple”; “Then I heard the voice of the Lord,
saying, ‘Whom shall I send, who will go for Us?’ Then I
said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:1,8).
While at the temple, Isaiah was given a majestic,
supernatural vision of God. He said, “I saw the Lord sit-
ting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His
robe filling the temple” (Isaiah6:1).
What do we see when we are worshiping God?
Admittedly, we should not expect a miraculous,
prophetic revelation as Isaiah received, but true worship
should open our eyes to God’s multicolored attributes.
Two men were walking our of a worship service. One
said, “Wasn’t he a great preacher!” while the other said,
“Don’t we have a great God!” The writer of this psalm,
like the second man, saw the greatness of God in his
worship.
As he worshiped, he saw God’s past mercies. He
thought of the walk that he had experienced with God,
and that reminded him of how gracious God had been to
him. Can we sing about God without thinking about
what He has done for us?
As he worshiped, he saw God’s power. Thinking of God
immediately brings to mind His might and His
indescribable strength. We can easily say what the angel
said to Abraham: “ Is anything too difficult for the
Lord?” (Genesis 18:14a).
As he worshiped, he saw God’s glory. God is a glorious
God. To be sure, His glory far exceeds any glory man can
imagine. In Isaiah’s vision, the glory of the Lord filled the
temple (Isaiah 6:1). When one truly worships, he is
bathed in God’s greatness, and his soul is filled with His
glory.
Worship, then, goes in and up: From our hearts and
lips, it goes up to God as sweet-smelling sacrifices and it
also remains with us, filling our souls with renewed
images of the character and attributes of God. As we
bring our gifts of praise to Him, we behold His glory and
are transformed by it, from worship service to worship
service, from glory to glory (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or
boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on
its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does
not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the
truth. Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never ends .
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
