INDORE, Mar 12:

A total solar eclipse willoccur on March 20, but sky-gaz-ers in the country will not beable to watch it.

This will be the first eclipsein the year when the moon willpass between the sun and theearth.

The total solar eclipse wouldnot be visible in any part ofIndia. However, the celestialevent will be seen in Europe,Atlantic Ocean and Africa,Ujjain-based Jiwaji Observa-tory’s Superintendent DrRajendra Prakash Gupt saidtoday.

The solar eclipse will start at1.10 PM and end at 5.20 PM,according to Indian StandardTime (IST), he said. The eclipsewill be at its peak at 3.15 PMwhen the moon will fully coverthe sun.

This condition will last for

2.50 minutes, said the scientist.(PTI)
