The Four Corners Power Plant is located on tribal trust lands in the New Mexico portion of the Navajo Reservation. Approximately 75% of employees at the plant areNative American.

The Four Corners Power Plant is a coal-fired electric generating station and:• Includesfiveunitsgeneratingapproximately2,100megawatts•Providespowertomorethan500,000homesinthe southwestern United States

CONTINUED OPERATIONOF THE POWER PLANTThe desired future operation of the plant site involves:•DiscontinueoperationofUnits1,2and3duringorpriorto2014• InstallingpollutioncontrolupgradesonUnits4and5•Continuedoperationoftheindependentswitchyardand transmission linesThis scenario would:•Substantiallyreducecoalconsumptionandairemissions•Lowerpoweroutputtoapproximately1,500megawatts•Expandtheashdisposalareainfutureyearswithinthecurrent plant lease boundary
