FINLAND

INTRODUCTION

Finland seems to have only one manufacture of .22s which has survived the second World War. We have no records or specimens of any other pre war manufacturer of private label seller at this time.

LAPUA. In 1983, Lapua was founded at a small town by the name of Lapua to produce military ammunition for the Finnish government. Production started in 1925. The first .22s were produced in 1947. The cartridge factory was destroyed by an explosion in 1976. A new plant was opened in 1978. Today, Lapua is one of the leading manufacturers of .22s match and target ammunition in the world. Their products have been well received in the U.S.A.

VALMET. CORPORATION. A Finnish company of services and technologies. Went into the weapons business in 1946.
