HAPPENINGS IN FORTIS SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH
PROGRAMME, 2016
Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare
Message from Dr. Samir Parikh
Mental health is the essence of life. There is no denying the necessity of having sound mental faculties and being devoid of any mental health related problems. Prevention takes precedence amongst all approaches that are geared towards enabling people to have good lives which are balanced. Building upon the right foundation requires having requisite life skills and abilities that allow for effective problem solving and decision making and efficiently tackling stressors. These skills are primarily imparted at school during those early growing years when students’ personalities are shaped and when they learn how to do things.
The vision is to shape and transform lives of the young population of our country through the robust Fortis School Mental Health programme. The following pages are a snapshot of the work we did in 2016.
I want to thank you all for providing us with the support to make this happen by sharing our vision and trusting in what we do through our programmes for schools. This is just the beginning and the years to come will see us do a lot more in this field of mental health in schools.
