Valentines and Ashes
February 14th is the start of the Season of Re-
newal and of a day of reflecting on the sacri-
fices and JOY of LOVE. Perhaps it is not unusual as
one may think to have both days together as real love
requires pray, sacrifice and alms giving of ones self.
These are the true challenges of Lent given to us each
year by the church. So often we think of Lent as the
GIVE-UP time and we offer you some GIVE UP ex-
periences for Lent 2018. GIVE UP bitterness for for-
giveness; GIVE UP negativity for positive spirit; GIVE
UP judgment for kind thoughts; GIVE UP worry for
trust in God; GIVE UP doubts and fears for a hope in
God; GIVE UP anger for patience; GIVE UP jealousy
and gossip for control and thoughts and words; GIVE
UP self and sin and reflect on the fruits of the Holy
Spirit. How can you better live these each day.
FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT
Charity, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness Goodness Gen-
erosity Gentleness Faithfulness, Modesty, Self Control,
Chastity.
