Director Milan Luthria(below) reveals that Akshay’slook tests for the film willbegin soon. “Akshay’scharacter in the film speaksless and has dark shades. Soone will see a lot of silentpower. We are planning to dolook tests soon and I think thelook will be modeled on AlPacino’s look in TheGodfather. He will have thathaunted look once he becomesa don.”

When asked if Akshay’scharacter is indeed inspiredby Ibrahim, Luthria said, “InOnce upon a Time In

Mumbaai, people saidShoaib’s character wasinspired by Ibrahim, but itwas an imaginary character.This character too, is ficti-tious. My film is not a hardhitting gory film, it is a love-triangle. But any hype aroundthe film benefits it.” Aboutreports that actor ShahidKapoor ditched the project, ashis role wasn’t as meaty asAkshay’s, Luthria says, “Wehaven’t shared the script withanyone. We had meetings withactors but nobody was at apoint where they could gaugethe characters to that extent.”

Addressing rumours abouthis alleged fallout withproducer Ekta Kapoor,because he signed a film withproducer Bhushan Kumar,Luthria says, “We have hadour share of fights, but notanymore. She is respectful ofmy talent and I, of her busi-ness acumen. I cannot workwith her all my life and sheworks with others too. Therewas never any exclusivity.”
