Facilities are required for :
• supporting production offtake
• gathering produced fluids
• processing and treatment
• evacuation or disposal
• storage and distribution
• Surface facilities design is based on :
• fluid flowrates
• fluid pressure and temperature
• fluid properties
• product quality required
Production Design Rate
• Maximum Oil Rate 40 Mbpd • Maximum Gas Rate 55 MMscfd • Maximum Water Rate 55 Mbpd

Oil And Gas Processing System
Separation System
• Scrubbers - 2 phase separation, to recover liquid carried over from production separator or due to condensation
• Liquid loading smaller. Application: upstream of mechanical equipment like compressors. Normally vertical
• Filter separators - designed to remove solid and liquid mists particles less than 10 micron
• Vortex breaker – To stop funneling action, to prevent gas from escaping.
• Foaming - causes less efficient separation. To add anti foam agent.
• Critical velocity - cannot be exceeded, otherwise droplets of liquid in gas do not have the time to drop out.
• Residence time not enough - vapor bubble has no time to rise from the liquid-vapor interface
• For large volume of production, normally two or more parallel trains of separation. Avoid full shutdown for repair or maintenance
• Test separators - periodic measurement for a single well, discharged back to common streams.
Gas Handling
• The gas which is naturally produced or separated from the oil may not be transported by pipeline for sales.
• Other applications of natural gas:1.Injected back into the reservoir to help maintain pressure.2.Assist wells to flow known as gas lift.3.Fuel gas.
Utilities System
• Firewater Systems• Instrument Air System• Starting Air Systems• Seawater & Potable Water System
Back up
Back up• This method is using the engineering formula to reconfirm the method 1. • • Given Q= 38.5 kbd and V= 6 ft/s .• Using formula below: • • d = (0.012Q/V)1/2
• d = (0.012 x 38 500 / 6)1/2
• d = 8.77 inch• • Percentage error• • For 10 inch pipeline size • Percentage error (%) = (10 – 8.77)/8.77 x 100 • = 14.02 %• For 8 inch pipeline size• Percentage error (%) = (8.77 – 8)/8.77 x 100 • = 8.77 %
