Prologue
Historical ProfileHistorica
l ProfileThe Dipolog
Medical Center College Foundation, Inc. (DMCCFI) is
the first and only Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – accredited paramedical institution of the province
of Zamboanga del Norte. It is situated at suburban Dipolog City and occupies 22,500 square meters of land area. Its sprawling expanse contains
four main buildings, a computer laboratory, and a Nursing Arts laboratory, with separate structures for the library and cafeteria.
DMCCFI began as an expansion program of Dipolog Medical Center Inc., a stock corporation that started operating on August 1, 1974 as a fifteen-bed general hospital located at Sta. Filomena, Dipolog City. Dipolog
Medical Center (DMC) is a realization of the ideas of fifteen Dipolognon medical practitioners and Msgr. Felix Zafra, former archbishop of Dipolog. They pooled their expertise and resources together to establish a high-quality hospital facility in
the city. It took more than two years for the institution to a open a course of midwifery, which began operating in 1977. The school was then called Dipolog Medical Center School of Midwifery.
After several years of service to the community, the management of DMC felt the need for exposing more young men and women of the cities of Dipolog and Dapitan and the neighboring municipalities to medical training and the medical profession. Through the efforts of Chairman of the Board Atty. Albert Concha
and Hospital Director Dr. Stephen Yap, the new revised Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) curriculum was opened. The permit by the Bureau of Higher Education, DECS, was granted in April 30, 1991, and the school began its first year level of BSN in a full-swing operation.
In the same year, the name of the school was changed to Dipolog Medical Center College of Health Sciences. In its continuing aim for excellence and growth, the management initiated their application to the Department of Education for permits to open other Health Sciences courses. In 1994, the Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (BSPT) began its first year level, and in 1996, the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology (BSMT) and the Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology (BSRT) also opened for enrollment.
In 1998, the Dipolog Medical Center College of Health Sciences became the Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation, Inc. It opened its Masters program with the course in Masters in Public Administration, and two more bachelor degree programs, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
In 2000, the DMC Science High School, Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and Bachelor of Civil Engineering were opened.
In 2003, in consortium with Negros Oriental State University (NORSU), the school opened its Doctor of Management, Doctor of Education, and Master of Arts in Educational Management courses.
By 2005, DMC Science High School together with the La Salle Schools Supervision Office (LASSO) signed a consultancy agreement that places the DMS-SHS under the Consultancy Status for a period of one year with LASSO recommending effective and advance of the High School until such time that the school will be ready for subsequent Supervisory Level.
In the year 2008, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management was opened. The Commission on Higher Education had high praises for the excellent facilities like the Front Office, Bar, Hot and Cold Kitchen of the department. At present, the new HRM building will soon rise. The builders are working day and night to finish the mini hotel and restaurant within the next school year.
This coming school year 2010-2011, we shall witness the opening of the College of Law. DMCCFI is now accepting enrolment for the college.
On the other hand, DMCCFI began its recruitment and staffing agency-the Staff Builders, which assists nurses and physical therapists for employment in the United States.
DMCCFI has also been granted by USAID an extension to its hospital facility through the JPAIGO. Presently, the college has been granted Applicant Status by PAASCU. Likewise, the college is also pursuing its status for the Institutional Monitoring and Evaluation for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (IQuaME).
Dipolog Medical Center College Foundation, Inc. is now a solid, successful landmark of Zamboanga del Norte. Its commitment to excellence is constant and unwavering, Through the years, it has earned the respect of the academic community, the loyalty of its employees and students, and the trust of the people and community it continues to serve.

Graduates,
You have successfully hurdled another stage in your academic life. It is my pleasure to congratulate all of you for completing your degrees in DMC College Foundation.
Graduation is only a ceremony. What is important is the perseverance and the diligence that went into your studies in the past years that resulted in the realization of your goals. This should continue on as a stepping stone to something greater and bigger purpose in life. I hope that what good things, ways and teachings you learned in school will make a better “you” – a better student, a better friend, a better son or daughter, a more responsible and useful citizen.
This is neither the ending nor the beginning of your journey but rather this is the continuation.
Carry on the good name of your Alma Mater- DMC College Foundation.
Congratulations and Godspeed!
ATTY. ALBERTO P. CONCHA President

Bottoms up, my dear graduates!
And so it has gone, the day of your graduation. This is the culmination of a four-year effort during which we have looked at this goal with awe.
Yet it is not without a feeling of regret that you leave your Alma Mater, the DMC College Foundation, the instructors, the professors, the surroundings and the camaraderie of friends. However, throughout the years of school, most of you have formulated an aim of life for which your education has been but a preparation or a period of apprenticeship.
Whatever your goals in life may be, you will certainly be conscious of, and be influenced by the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship which your school inculcated within you. For this legacy may you sincerely thank your teachers and your fellow students who have assisted you by their collaboration and consideration.
You must be, and are aware of the great responsibilities which the educational system of your nation bears. May you continue to produce citizens able to uphold the democratic ideals. May you continue to support the standard of decency, honesty and courage. And may you prove worthy graduates to perpetuate this responsibility.
Good luck, Graduates of 2007-2008!

These values will let you emerge victorious amidst all the challenges, and will enable you to achieve the true meaning of success.

Dear Graduates,
Graduation is not an end but a beginning.Getting that diploma is not your ultimate goal, but in hindsight, it is just the
mere commencement towards fulfilling your respective dreams.Graduation is not the end of our bliss in life but a step
towards finding other ways to be happy in our future endeavors.
Graduation is not the end of our enjoyment with the relationships and camaraderie with our fellow DMCians but a challenge to greet, meet and treat newfound friends in real life.
My dear graduates, I would like to think that the years you have spent here is mutually beneficial between the teachers and staff, and you, the students. I am convinced that you are now equipped to face all challenges that life may unleash upon you.
Both inside and outside the classroom, you have been taught the importance of curiosity and open-mindedness; of thorough, independent investigation; of critical, creative thinking; of rational, unbiased analysis.
All of that is in anticipation of this moment, when you step outside the College’s protective walls, and confront a world that will give you no quarter. Considering the fact that you are young and bright, and full of promise, I challenge you to employ everything you’ve learned to reach your potential. All the school gave you is the venue for learning, equipping you with the knowledge to be prepared with life in the so-called real world, the rest is up to you.
Good luck and God bless.

My Dear Graduates,
I wish to convey my profound congratulatory greetings to all the graduates of Academic Year 2007 - 20008!
It is with great joy and honor that the students of DMC – College Foundation leave the portals of this school equipped with wisdom and knowledge as they face new opportunities and challenges in their own lives and the society.
The great challenges confronting the world at the start of this new decade lead us to think that only an intervention from on high is capable of guiding the hearts of those living in situation of conflict and those governing the destinies of nations. This can give us reason to hope for a brighter future.
It is with great pride that the school looks forward to the success of these graduates considering that they have been equipped with the right formation both in academic and spiritual aspects. Moreover, we are confident to that the challenges that the world offers would all the more enrich their formation as they journey towards serving others.
In view of all these, we are grateful for their presence and for sharing the giftedness of their person to us and for others. May our good God, through prayers, to whom the year 2008 is dedicated, truly lead us to his son and His way continuously.
Congratulations, dear graduates!!!
