Hello Shaggers,
ECSC has just completed its membership drive. 165 members have elected to join
the club. Membership is always open to pass and new members. Please consider
joining the best shag club in ACSC.
May is full of great opportunities for ECSC. These include:
1. Weekly Wednesday shagging at Wild wings. This has been a great success. Having
a place to dance weekly is a blessing. Thank you to all our members who regularly
attend.
2. New members party May 19 at Occasions. All current members are urged to
attend.
3. An Old Time SOS Vinyl party at Wild Wings May 31. Join Mike Swords and Norman
Mills as they give us a special treat to start our summer of fun. Wear your 1950’s
garb. Let’s see who looks the best.
4. Board meeting May 16 at the Anderson Public Library. The meeting begins at
6:00pm. All members are invited. Come and become a part of ESCS.
Many members were in attendance at Spring Safari. ECSC was seen dancing at
Duck’s, Harold’s, Spanish Galleon and the OD Arcade. Our tea party was held at the
OD Arcade. 41 members were in attendance. Fun was had by all.
I attended the ACSC meeting Saturday May 26. The attendance was great. Much
information was distributed to all the club presidents. I will be assimilating this
information for distribution to the membership. It is wonderful to have an ECSC
member on the ACSC Board. Thank you Lisa Caveny for serving and being Secretary
for our parent organization.
April weekly dancing was again blessed by our gift givers. Their generosity is very
much appreciated. Great job Norma Chastain, Bonnie Valine, Gail Kent, Sandy
Swank, Mary and Micky Medlin, Jim and Shirley Bayne. If I inadvertently left anyone
of the list, sorry and thank you.
It is never too early to think about being a candidate for the ECSC Board. All of you
have talents that would greatly serve the Board and ECSC. I challenge you to run for
leadership positions in our club. Talk to our existing Board members if you are
interested.
Service, Sacrifice and Welcome

Love In the Air
Susie and I met thru online dating website called Tender. Being a LSU
grad and Susie growing up in Tuscaloosa, she said "I don't know if a
Bama girl can date a LSU boy." I said "How about we go out and see".
On September 7th , we met for dinner for the first time and talked for 3
hours. I was hooked but didn't know it until months later.
On our second date, Susie said let's go dancing. We went to Wild
Wings and everyone welcomed us with opened arms. Bob Kent came
over and was so kind. We decided shagging was going to be fun. We
took lessons and enjoyed learning from Maggie and Jodi. We never
missed Wednesday nights at the Electric City Shag Club.
By Thanksgiving I knew I was in love with her. It wasn't until months
later in February that Susie said those magic words that brought the
GREATEST JOY to my heart. "I'm in love with you, Jimmy Whitt ".
On April 8th at the Galley restaurant, I asked her to be my wife and
she said "Yes". I am the happiest man in the world.
I am looking forward to moving to Anderson to be with Susie and my
two daughters and five grandsons who live in the Anderson area.

1. Where were you born____________Rock Hill, SC
2. What's your hobbies______________Kayaking, swimming, boating, movies and
dancing
3. Where did you meet your spouse__________ Not Married
4. What got you interested in dancing_______ Myrtle Beach Days' when I was a
teenager
5. Tell us a little bit about yourself________________
I have been divorced for almost twenty years and have two wonderful
grown children. The absolute love of my life is my three year old grandson
who calls me GG. I am retired from the state of SC after working 35 years
counseling students with emotional disturbances and now I work part
time in private practice as a psychotherapist in Ga. I enjoy listening and
dancing to all kinds of music and if I have a glass of wine, all the better. I
grew up living on the lake and it’s in my blood. I am an outdoor person I
love the sun, swimming, fishing, gardening, boating, hiking and working in
the yard. Cooking and eating healthy are absolute favorites of mine
although I can’t do without the cheat days. There is nothing better than
watching movies with homemade chocolate chip cookies and a big glass
of milk. I am passionate about my counseling work. I can truthfully say I
have never worked a day in my life. The career I have been privileged to
hold has always felt like a gift from the Lord.
I attend church at Foothills Community Church in Seneca
