Evaluation Question 2

My media magazine was aimed at both those interested in the electronic/dubstep music genre and

technology used within, it uses these conventions throughout the magazine, linking back to the

original name “Techtronik” tech in technology and tronik – electronic, with the K being added for a

more hipster/younger audience feel.

Hipster feel, black> white colour contrast, with

reasonable extra colour in the form of the

speaker output thumbnails, Reece (Model’s)

expression, laid back, hipster style dress sense,

similar to my mood board, branded with popular

clothing and technology brands, linking back the

main title.

Colours link back via his t-shirt, main coverline,

coverlines and title.

Only un-generic part is the website which is

black-text unlike the rest of the magazine.

Same similar story on the feature article, colours

are more vibrant but target audience is

represented the same. This time, Isaac the DJ is

acting a little more like the target audience I was

aiming for, without stereotyping he dresses like a

hipster.

SNAPBACK CAP, ROLLED SLEEVES, BRANDED

ITEMS IN THE FOREGROUND, (ACER, NUMARK),

BRACELETES FROM PREVIOUS GIGS.

I could have

represented my target

audience better, but I

felt the images used

within were ideal for

the 16-24 year old age

zone that I was aiming

for, the people that

were used in my

images are mostly

“mainstream, hipster

young adults” that are

interested in today’s

style music, up-to-

date on their tech and

wear the same style

clothing and brands.
